Today we play yet another derby against Porto, and as usual, it will be of major relevance

We are 3 pts ahead of them, and although it may not be decisive for us,because so far the head to head factor is in our favor, in fact i look at it as such.....its key to win this match if we want to make sure to win the title

there are still tough games ahead for us, and in that regard Porto has an easier ride, so we have to enter the pitch this afternoon with nothing else but the victory in our minds

we'll be playing at home, we'll have our fans massive support......we can do it! so lets do it guys

the game starts at 17h GMT, and both teams will be almost in their maximum potential....so far only Tello for Porto wont play (injured), and Salvio for Benfica (injured)

Jackson Martinez is leading the Goalscorers list with 17 goals, and our Jonas is right behind with 16 goals, so thats a duel to look forward aswell

Força Benfica!!!!:wee:

Salvio in is the list but likely not even in the bench will be.

as draw is enought, let's do this Benfica!

#5 ·
on the list yes, but he wasnt training with the team, so i doubt he will make the becnh...we'll see...

as for the draw, we need to go for the win kleb, need to have ambition here...those who play for the draw usually lose

ONZE DO BENFICA: Júlio César, Maxi Pereira, Luisão, Jardel, Eliseu, Samaris, Talisca, Gaitán, Pizzi, Jonas e Lima.

Suplentes Benfica: Paulo Lopes, André Almeida, Lisandro, Fejsa, Rúben Amorim, Ola John e Derley

salvio doesn't even make the bench, talisca as right winger....the bench looks awful in terms of attacking options.....:stoned:

Equipa inicial: Helton (guarda-redes); Danilo, Maicon, Marcano e Alex Sandro (defesas); Casemiro, Rúben Neves, Evandro e Óliver (médios); Brahimi e Jackson Martínez (avançados).

Banco: Fabiano, Martins Indi, Herrera, Ricardo, Hernâni, Ricardo Quaresma e Aboubakar.

a lot of changes again by lopetegui

porto bench looks good.

kleb, porto has a deeper squad, we know that from the begining of the season, im surprised he isnt starting with herrera though

thats why salvio is a miss for us...yes, attacking options are close to non existant in the bench...what we have in the bench is midfield contention in fejsa and amorim...so lets hope we can have our starting players to make a good game.....i like the choices jesus made, not much else he could do, its an attacking team, lets hope for the best:thmbup:

porto fans are a piece of shit, the ones at the stadium today.....unable to respect 1min of silence for someones death

0-0 ht.

awful first half by both teams especialy Benfica.

#12 ·
good lord what a crappy game, so so badly played by both teams.....

still, only one goal chance, and it belonged to porto, dunno how jackson missed it

Jesus has a lot of work to do in this HT....for one, he needs to replace eliseu, not only is he a liability, as having that yellow card, with danilo, and brahimi on his ass....nothing good can come from it

also that midfield needs intervention, it is so so rusty....

could be as simple as having talisca leave the wing and play behind the strikers...but who will play on the wing? talisca is crap on the wing...but could ola john be the solution?

when im considering the possibility of fielding in ola john..then we are really talking about desperate times here:D

maybe we just need to sub out pizzi, have talisca in his place, and get lima on the right wing...

#13 ·
pack behind, put lisandro and amorim and defend the 0-0.....

#14 ·
kleb , i agree in winning the midfield ( which we havent so far), but cant sit and defend the 0-0

amorim or fejsa in, with talisca out ( lima to go to the right wing) , could be a possibility yes, to get a hold of the midfield, but not with the goal to keep it at 0-0.....rather with the aim at being able to actually make a decent connection between defense and attack, and get a shot at porto's net, which we havent so far, unless you count that corner and jardel's header

#16 ·
much much better 2nd half, still very few goal chances, very balanced game...0-0 is the fair result

ok...its up to us now......4 games to go...we need to win 3...we have to give it all now and win the next 3 games!!!

Força Benfica!!!!

#17 ·
good result.

i guess it will be enough to be champion.

win both games at home and win at gil vicente,we don't evem need guimaraes game.

Jesus was grounded on pragmatism despite the fact that he was bitterly bitten by it not-so-long-ago. Iron will. Kudos.

i wonder what lopetegui told to jesus.....he went to hug him...they hugged, all smiles...thne as they move away lopetegui must have said something really nasty to piss off jesus that way.....curious:D

What a sore loser. He wears those colors well.

#21 ·
he's been their puppet all season long, the way he never fails to complain about the refs in every single press conference, throw shots in latin at other teams, and even complain about the portuguese league after a CL match....truely pathetic man

porto has had many coaches, some more classy or ballsy than others, like it happens with every team, but this dude is a new low for them in that regard

#23 ·
You're being very diplomatic. This guy fits that bucket of puke perfectly.

Well done by JJ. Made life very tough for FCP. Both teams repeatedly tried to go over the defense with no success. The best chances were off broken plays. 3 wins from a BI.
