I was just thinking about TLN and their documentary on Dec 4th about Brazilian Football http://www.tlntv.com/main/shows/ginga.htm and realized how lucky we are to have a cable TV station in Canada dedicated to broadcasting Serie A.

Apart from this documentary they show three Serie A matches a week, two Champions League matches usually involving Italian teams and even some international's. If it wasn't for TLN I would have been stuck watching English teams all week on Rogers and TSN.

All Serie A fans living in soccer deprived Canada along with myself should take a minute to thank TLN for their continued coverage by dropping them a quick e-mail at soccer@tlntv.com.

I have thanks them in the past. They are showing one less match a week this year for some reason but still I see what I want to see for the most part. I dont have time to watch 4 matches anymore :D :

I love TLN but this year they suck. They have not had 2 Lazio games vs Roma and Juve on a Saturday. I dont know if its Lazio or TLN, but I am not happy.

uhh....Lazio-Roma was on TLN. what other matches are you talking about?

They had on some music festival instead of the Lazio-Juve match....obviously not what I expected either
Lazio vs Roma was not on tv in Toronto. They had a game that started at noon. I dont know what the teams were.
They never have anything but soccer on Saturday at 2:30 why have a music festival then?
Oh well.
PS I did send them a few emails but have not got anything back from them.

They're not allowed to show Lazio games. Along with a few other teams. It's something about licensing. I heard it last week, but i can't fully remember what Alf de Blasis was saying.

I wanted so badly to watch this documentary but incredibly I forgot about it and missed it. :( I have emailed TLN about either re-playing it and if not possible, to tell me if this was available on DVD and where but I have not heard from them.

Has anyone watched this Ginga documentary? Did anyone tape it and could you make me a copy? I'd be gladly paying for the shipping costs and all and I'd be truly grateful to that kind person.

Thanks a bunch guys. :)

And a big  for TLN about their Serie A policy, albeit at times, their selection of games leaves one with some concern*, but overall, they're doing a good job in covering the Serie A!

* IE: More Milan coverage!:hopefull::stuckup: ;)

Cheers.;)

As I understand it, the North American English-language TV rights for almost all Serie A games are held by GolTV, which resells them to TLN for the Canadian market. The "almost" is there because it doesn't include home games of Cagliari, Lazio, Lecce, and Treviso. Those four have a separate rights deal, and in Canada their rights holder is Fox Sports World.

See again this week the Milan at Lazio game is not on TLN. They will have the Inter game at 10 and again at 2:15.

Wow this morning they changed it and put the game on.

Too bad that in Calgary, Shaw Cable switched this channel to a pay-tv type of deal. It was great when it was broadcast over regular cable, but alas, no more.
