So as the NT friendlies are over we still have our clubs to follow this summer, until the EC-qualifying begins (*yay*).

Our participants this year in Europe will be champion Banants Yerevan (CL), runner-up Shirak Gyumri, 3rd placed Mika and cup winner Pyunik (all in EL).

Possible rivals for Banants in the 1st round:

FC Santa Coloma (Andorra)
Levadia Tallinn (Estonia)
Havnar Boltfelag Torshavn (Faroe Islands)
Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar)
La Fiorita (San Marino)

The first leg will be played on 1–2 July 2014. Europa League qualifying will start on 3 July 2014. The draw will be held mid June.

way ko ara?!?!!?? our clubs are playing against teams from andorra, faroe islands, gibraltar or san marino ?! WHAT THE ****ING ****!!! how bad are our teams performing in europe?

this has to change. we have to atleast get to the last round of qualification round. we need investment and very good scouting for diasporan armenians to play for us.

Because if ANY diasporan goes to Armenia the hayastantsis will DO EVERYTHING in their power to make money out of you, your family etc.

I know people who have hayastantsi relatives who have screwed their parskahay cousins over. You can't do business with them, it's impossible, kaken meche oghaki

HayFanat there's a reason why diaspora Armenians don't want to invest (loose) their money in Armenia (Armenian football). Our football level reflects the Armenian economy. We have to live with that, we won't have a club in the last qualification round in the next 10-15 years. Maybe accession to the Eurasion Union will change that. :)

As a diasporan, I concur. The problem is not just in the realm of football but goes all the way to the top.

Don't bet on it.

In my opinion Banants and Shirak can pass the starting rounds. I see it hard for Pyunik, while Mika's chances will be more clear when we'll know their rivals

I'm not sure what you think, but I think of these teams, although Banants should progress no matter who they draw, the most dangerous draw would be Levadia and also HB Torshavn - playing away in the Faroe Islands can be difficult because of the conditions there. Gibraltar's NT have got some decent results since they were granted membership so it'll be interesting to see how their clubs perform in European competition, can they claim any scalps, likewise.

Banants SHOULD have no problems getting past the first round, probably even the 2nd round. They've got a good squad with a smart coach in Hornyak.

Banants will definitely make it past the 1st round. The 2nd round depends on who they get. If they can make it past the second round, they are automatically in the Europa play offs whether or not they get eliminated in the 3rd round. And if they can even get past the 3rd, they will be in the Europa group stages. I think Shirak will get passed 2 rounds and get eliminated in the 3rd. Pyunik will either barely pass the first round or get eliminated. And Mika's situation is always the most frustrating, they always outplay their opponents, but somehow end up getting eliminated.

seems legit... sadly it seems that nearly amen hay amena kiche mi haystantsi barekam uni wor poxe usum poki... haskanalia wor wichaka shat vata endex baiz tsev ka eli.

Im sure alot of Armenians would invest back home if there was less corruption, a strong justice system, and no oligarchs kicking your ass. But then again, ete etents liner Hayastane karoxa diaspora chliner..

EUROPA draw:
FC Shirak (ARM) v FC Shakhter Karagandy (KAZ) -> tough but winnable game
RNK Split (CRO) v FC Mika (ARM) -> more winnable than above
FC Pyunik (ARM) v FC Astana (KAZ) -> winnable

If Shirak advances:
FC Differdange 03 (LUX)/FK Atlantas (LTU) v FC Shirak (ARM)/FC Shakhter Karagandy (KAZ)

If Pyunik advances:
Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC (ISR) v FC Pyunik (ARM)/FC Astana (KAZ)

If Mika advances:
Hapoel Beer Sheva FC (ISR) v RNK Split (CRO)/FC Mika (ARM)

---------------------------------------------------
Basically, Kazakhstan and Israel are our draws this year

am I the only one that thinks we got pretty tough draws for everything? I don't see any of our clubs advancing(except maybe Shirak). Mika chokes every year no matter how easy of an opponent they face, banants better sign a few decent players, and pyunik playing with only 18-19 year olds is not going to work out well for them.

Sorry guys but don't understimate Kazakhstan teams , it's different from National Team . Split isn't that good actually , they might borrow some players from other teams in croatian league just for the Europa Matches to power the attack, if not Mika will progress.

FC Shirak (ARM) v FC Shakhter Karagandy (KAZ) -> Not Winnable
RNK Split (CRO) v FC Mika (ARM) -> Winnable
FC Pyunik (ARM) v FC Astana (KAZ) -> Not winnable

Good luck !

We dont underestimate the Kpl because we have lots of players and our former nt coach there. Astana is not that good and Pyunik always plays the best from the armenian teams because they dont have the same scared mentality as other teams. As such, I cant agree with saying pyunik vs astana is not winnable.

I do agree with Michael and Simboli. Though Shirak has a good squad, Karagandy - as we all know - did quiet well in their European campaigns. Probably the worst draw from all possible teams for Gyumri. Shirak needs new defenders ASAP!

40 % Shirak - 60 % Karagandy.

Mika picked the easiest of all possible opponents, but as Michael said Mika is known to be a choker team. So I wouldn't be surprised if they go out in the 1st round.

55 % Mika - 45% Split

Pyunik is lost if they don't sign 2-3 experienced foreigners.

30 % Pyunik - 70 % FK Astana.

Banants should have no problems in the 1st round.
I have also some hope for the 2nd round against Maccabi. Hornyak said in an interview that some Kuban players might join Banants to help them out. So it will be a close tie, with some luck and discipline Banants can beat them.

I'm looking forward to the games.

After all these years of watching our clubs play, I'll just make a quick overview of how I think our clubs will do:

There's not much to say about Banants. They will definitely pass the first round. Second round requires some serious signings and intense training.

Shirak is our best club, even if they didn't win the APL this year. They're the most professional and developed club with the smartest mentality. They have a great squad and are going to sign a few more players to strengthen the team. They played very well both home and away against a team like Partizan, so hopefully they learned their lesson from last year and will come out strong against Shakhter. I can see them overcoming Shakhter if they play smart.

Pyunik will not be passing the first round. They have a horrible coach, and the entire team is filled with inexperienced youngsters. Unless they sign a couple of experienced players, they will be blown out, but either way I don't see them advancing. This is why I wanted Gandzasar to win the cup, they would've spent a lot of money developing the squad and would've had a MUCH better shot at advancing.

Mika will not be advancing either. I know this attitude isn't helping, but Mika is our only club that will not score a single goal if they are handed 10000 chances. It always happens to them. They are our absolute most frustrating club to watch.
