So i have a question, do you guys think Alen Halilovic will play for Croatia or Bosnias international team when he's of age.. And why did his did switch, cause he played for our NT in 93' but switched in 98' and played for bosnia

If you're a Mamić-player, then you're being represented by Mamić. It's basically what it means. Sometimes players want one thing and like HS says, agents something else which then leads to a player being frozen out despite being very good. It's unfortunately how it works in our countries.

He's tied to Dinamo long term...Maminjo controls both Dinamo and the NT...Maminjo's not going to let one of his most prized assets join an NT where he has no influence...what would be the point of taking over Croatian football if he was to allow his next big cash cow to wander over to BiH?

The kid's a troll plain and simple.

Mamić won't have a thing to do with the country the kid picks in the end. It will be his choice just like it was the choive of Šimunić, Ćorluka, Jelavić etc. If he feels like a Cro then hell, he will choose us, if he feels like a Bošnjak then he will choose BiH, simple as that.

He is welcome to his choice, he has to live with it for the rest of his life.

Halilović was apparently on T.V. today saying how his dream is to play for Croatia seniors along with Modrić.

note, apparently lol. a good mate of mine told me. I didn't see it.

Sounds promising but when the BiH media gets a hold of him and start to put pressure on him, anything can happen. Polako :D

He's too close to the nerve centre of Croatian football...there is absoluetly zero chance Mamić would allow the next golden child to operate outside his zone of influence...and that's what would happen if the kid chose (or chooses) BiH...and the kid and his family aren't stupid, could you imagine what kind of shitstorm that follow his "defection" to BiH...much easier and smarter for a kid who is born and bred in ZG to stick to playing for HR...

I do forget about Stanic, Jelavic, Corluka, Lovren. They are ZG born and bred. Great logic, Suho!

The same was once said for Rakitić, who's logical choice would have been Switzerland after playing for their youth selections, but he made his choice in the end, which means that Halilović choosing BiH can't be ruled out. If he would rather play for BiH I can't fault him and I doubt that 10 mamićes would be able to stop him if he wanted to.

Yeah, because Maminjo is a svetac who treats "his" players like they are his own children...:howler:

Seriously, indications with Rakitić were always that he'll play for HR even if he was a Swiss youth player...unless Alen leaves Croatia before he is capped at senior level we can't compare the two situations...and you can be 100 percent sure that he'll be capped by the seniors in the next 2-3 years, before he goes abroad...the BiH savez won't even have a chance to snap him up...

If the kid was ever going to choose BiH he wouldn't have rejected their U17 team...it would have been much easier to make the switch before he signed a long-term deal for Dinamo, before he made his debut in Dinamo's seniors and before he became known to the wider public...all other calculations are out the window for the reason I mentioned in the above paragraph...

There are to many assumptions in your essay up there. Fact of the matter is that if Halilović wanted to choose the BiH NT, nobody would be able to stop him, not Mamić, not his father. If he wanted to leave Dinamo then Mamić would have a problem with it due to contract obligations, the contract which doesn't contain, "you must play for the Cro NT". :wallbang:

Mamić can suggest but by no menas can he make someone play for Cro against their wishes. Everything else is bollocks and scaring people with the boggie monster mamić, making kids play for Cro even though they want to play for Slovenia/BiH/Macedonia  :palm:

:howler:

Like I said, Mamić is a svetac...:howler: You still haven't told me what your connection is to that slime ball...but anyway...

Btw, you do know that the Halilovići have had problems with Mamić over the last 12-18 months? That Sejad was suspended from his job at Dinamo because he didn't want to sign on with Mamić? That the kid had a potential suspension hanging over his head, that they were going to freeze him out?

There are no assumptions in my post - the kid will be capped for Croatia before anyone can even blink. Unless you think BiH will call him up before Croatia does? Or he'll reject a Croatia call-up when it inevitably comes in the next 2 years?:howler:

So your argument has gone from "Mamić will force him to play for Cro as he is Mamićes most prised assett" to "Croatia will call him first" :howler:

And offcourse I know there were turbulances and that Sead was suspended from his job at Dinamo, which is why I say that Mamić/contract obligations make him do right by D I N A M O, but not the NT. The NT is a seperate matter alltogether and if the wanted to, and was eligable to play for fricking zimbabwe nobody could stop him.

And yeah I do think that BiH will call him at the same time as Croatia does, they won't waste any time, and it's up to the kid to decide, not Mamić. Use your head! :wallbang:

They are very aware of him and have been for a long time Look Here

Instead of paraphrasing me why don't you quote my post...:rollani:

...Maminjo's not going to let one of his most prized assets join an NT where he has no influence...
And he won't by making sure the kid is in the Croatian NT first...maybe Croatia's always going to be the kid's first choice anyway but...

And offcourse I know there were turbulances and that Sead was suspended from his job at Dinamo, which is why I say that Mamić/contract obligations make him do right by D I N A M O, but not the NT.
Turbulence? It was outright stand-over tactics by Mamić...btw, Mamić/contract obligations make him do right by Mamić first and foremost...funny how Halilović didn't even have a contract with them but Mamić was still able to make their life hell...:howler:

The NT is a seperate matter alltogether and if the wanted to, and was eligable to play for fricking zimbabwe nobody could stop him.
The NT and Mamić/Dinamo are not separate matters...they're now basically one and the same...for Mamić to squeeze maximum value out of Halilović he'll want him in the Cro NT...that's why I wouldn't be losing any sleep over the kid's allegiance...Maminjo always gets what he wants...

And yeah I do think that BiH will call him at the same time as Croatia does, they won't waste any time, and it's up to the kid to decide, not Mamić. Use your head! :wallbang:
If they (BiH) really want him then they can call him up for the next set of matches...:howler:

They are very aware of him and have been for a long time Look Here
Then there is this, from 6 months ago...

Vjerovatno odabrao Hrvatsku: Alen Halilović se odbio odazvati selektoru Malkočeviću

The thing that worries me most is the fact that his old man played for BiH NT from 1994 till 2000.

For arguments sake, let's say that Zvonimir Boban had a son, who was born in Milan, who grew up in Milan, played in the youth team of Italy, and was then given a call up to the Cro senior NT at the same time as the Italian senior NT.

It would be touch and go who he would play for, but I definately wouldn't rule out the Croatian NT, infact I would give us the advantage.

And it's this kind of gypsery that ruins young talented kids not only in Croatia but also BiH. Gossip, half quotes, creating distrust etc..etc... the media and the people surrounding these young kids are disgusting. Just like what they did to Kranjcar when he was at Dinamo.:yuck: I hope Halilovic chooses Croatia too, but if he doesn't who cares, he has as much will and right to choose BiH as well like Blast said. Imagine if we had an NDH team? We would never need a yugoslavia, just the players from Cro and BiH would be enough...and if we got Ibrahimovic as well:howler::smileani:
