Despite our suffered win this evening in Ukraine, due to Scotland's remarkable win in France, it's sad to admit that most presumably Euro 2008 has just ended for us. :scream:
Only a miracle can save us, a miracle that could be labeled: Operation Highlands
Nevertheless
Forza Azzurri

*jinx thread alert* :D
Not really I'm afraid dear nEEbz
If you take a glimpse at the table of our group, logics spare us little hope :notlist: Furthermore, the second last time we won the WC back in 1982, even then we failed qualification.
Oh well!

one team cannot upset two top guns in a row. So Scotland have minimal chance to turn the tables on Italians again.

It's seems Italy name is already written on Euro 2008 trophy. It's all too inevitable. Everything points toward it. It's a lost battle for the other. It's all over. :depress:

Though we're still kind of daydreaming as current World Champions :proud: down to scratch Scotland just needs a draw against us, no need for an upset:

13 ottobre 2007
Scozia-Ucraina 1
Italia-Georgia 1
Far Oer-Francia 2
17 ottobre 2007
Georgia-Scozia 2
Ucraina-Far Oer (pointless game)
Francia-Lituania 1
17 novembre 2007
Lituania-Ucraina (pointless game)
Scozia-Italia x
21 novembre 2007
Italia-Far Oer 1
Georgia-Lituania (pointless game)
Ucraina-Francia 2 (pointless game for Ukraine)

Oh well!

well if ukraine vs france is pointless for ukraine then so is italy vs georgia italy vs faroe
france vs lithuania
Very true unfortunately. The only game with high motivation for both teams is Scotland vs Italy. Scotland will only need to draw that game.

donadoni has to play the strongest XI in scotland, he has been coach over year and the game in scotland is in novembre, so by then he should clearly know what is the best lineup.

But he doesnt...
In all fairness, some were suggesting exactly the same things about Lippi.

Anyway, France has virtually qualification in it's pocket, Italy need to make history in Scotland :stress:

I just added the full schedule a post above yours. Indeed France will play a unmotivated Ukraine on the road.
but the smaller teams would still like to cause some upsets.

(or play for honour) :hopeful:

so if france and italy are neck and neck before last round, ukraine (or faroe, least likely though :howler:) would want to be part of this upset. a ka ukraine push the wc finalist out of europe, or italy so so faroe away

Unfortunately logics suggest otherwise I'm afraid :groan:

but the team put together (on the night) still played football, donadonis azzurri is more of a teaser to the supporters nerves.
Do you remember Slovenia vs Italy or Iceland vs Italy?
Anyway, the past is the past, may logics be proved wrong :hopeful:

You know what i mean.If the world champions cannot win a team that hasn't been in a major tournament for ages it's better to be 3rd.I don't say all this to underestimate Scotland though.

Might well be true, however, since France will certainly qualify, since they lost both ties to Scotland, would you rule them out as possible winners next summer?

That's different. You can't compare the qualifying rounds with Euro finals next year.My team Greece won the last Euro but who could imagined that?Everything can happen next summer.

Btw can you post the groups table and remaining games for Italy,France and Scotland?
