This weekend gave me many nervous moments with my sports betting, i watched every game 90 minutes and extra time, because it isn't over until it's over. Real Madrid - Sevilla in particular,,, very tense game, many goals and great entertainment, and ridiculous refereeing :D

Actually, on the contrary to what does happen in almost every single La Liga match that I watch every weekend, that wasn't true on this particular game.

i thought arsenal were open, thats until i saw real madrid, incredible how much space the opposition is given, awful defensively at the moment- the guys at the back ran around like headless chickens, totally AWOL for sevilla's 3rd.

McCarthy just used La Liga as a springboard to greater things. La Liga is our feeder league and just used to try players out, like places like Holland and France before they go to the big league. If I was wrong, why do Spain's best players, Fabregas and Torres, play in the EPL whilst jokers such as Xavi and Villa can't make it out of that second tier championship?

Ah I was really enjoying being the only one who knew he was on the wind up.

La Liga with another incredible weekend of attacking football. Amazing entertainment and I'm really enjoying it this season. After two pretty poor seasons La Liga is really back with a bang.

Hardly, just because he duped the two nutty valencia kids, doesnt mean it was obvious :pp

The set piece defending for in the Madrid Sevilla game was hilarious, and the goalkeepers, oh dear oh dear. :howler:

I think Granero scored a very nice goal against Villarreal, the same goes for Gavilán, two pretty hard numbers to do, yet they make it look so easy.

I'd say Sergio Agüeros bycycle-kick was great as well as David Barrals projectile against Atlético.

As for the biggest misstake this weekend: I really have no clue what Iraizoz was doing when he allowed that goal from Gonzalo Colsa, never should've happened. Also, Ángel Lafitas goal is pure comedy, the goalkeeper (Goitia) made something similar to Massimo Taibis howler when he played for Manchester United.

No worries mate :smileani:

Higuain was denied a penalty I thought.

Zoric said Madrid wuz robbed, so that's the truth.
whatever zoric says is the truth.

cheers for the goals zoric.
At least once, should've been twice if it wasn't for the usual refereeing standard in Primera División.

In terms of quality, I think this is one of the best seasons lately. It's not just Barcelona, who are doing almost perfect. Also Valencia, Villarreal, Sevilla, Madrid (despite their late form) and Atletico are doing pretty well. Also in Europe the Spanish teams did pretty well compared with the last 2 years.

In La Liga, Barcelona are in record path, but some of the direct rivals are doing over their usual average. Pretty good league this year so far.

Sevilla did not sit back and defend homeboy, it was end to end stuff and their intent was to attack, maybe not as much as we do obviously because we were losing but they were defintely not sitting back. Thats not Sevilla's style.

eventhough the season started slowly, La Liga has certainly has been the most entertaining league
I think Serie A started with the most promise with teams like Udinese, Lazio and Napoli on top, but things are starting to get back in "normal" in Italy.....while La Liga has been mind blowing to say the least....
The number of technically gifted attacking players present in La Liga in unmatched by any other leagues....sucks I can't say the same thing about the defence, which maybe the main reason many Spanish teams will fail to progress much further in EUrope (bar Barca, obviously)

and to THe Green One, why don't we talk about Fernando Torres if you are really interested in Diego Forlan........

To be fair, when I think about it football in general has been good this season. All the top leagues are either suprising, or a lot closer than usual. Underdog teams doing brilliantly, top teams not escaping too far at the top (the one that is is at least playing mind boggling football in doing so). Mostly good attacking football in all leagues, good stuff.

The CL knockouts should be great this year, I'd wager they'll be better than last year, when they were excellent.
