Apparently, there are no pro futsal-ers in the USA, so they are using "indoor soccer" players who are adapting to futsal... crazy stuff, because indoor soccer here in the states is so freakin weird...non Americans wouldnt beleive it

Whats the difference between futsal and "indoor soccer?"

 

too me it should be the same, the only thing I can think of is football society, which in Brasil is a smaller pitch then regular football with synthetic grass and usually 6 vs 6, the ball is the same used in football.

While futsal is a small wooden/concrete court with a ball that is smaller and weights a little more.

So I guess for Americans indoor soccer could be something more like society football, regular ball and synthetic grass.

 

I play in an indoor soccer league here in LA and like you said its a synthetic turf, 6 vs 6 but not a regular ball, its a size 4 which is a bit smaller. There is alot of arenas these days for it so i guess you're right that its becoming a society thing.

 

We got like 100's of them synthetic turfs here in lots of clubs in Cairo, 5 x 5 or 6 x 6 as well, it's becoming like the modern day football, more entertaining than the 11 x 11 for me(while playing it).

 

I saw some of Brasil - Japan yesterday. Always a treat seeing Brasil play, especially when Falcao is involved.

I prefer futsal to other types of 5/6 a side indoor/outdoor football. However it unfortunately has no popularity here in the UK.

 

Futsal is the greatest small side football of all of them. Falcão is THE MAN! Robinho calls him "the professor". He's all the world's tricks put in one.

Indoor soccer in the US, is where you play on carpet or turf, in a hockey shaped and sized "court". there are no out of bounds, like hockey and you can use the wall whereever it is available (which becomes rather arbitrary because one side sits the bench). There are actual "indoor soccer" tournaments. Futsal and other 6v.6/7v.7 stuff you can play outside, but not this type. And this is where the US has pulled its futsal players from. But besides the oval shaped field and walls, its just like regular 6 v 6 football

4+1 is played with a size 4 ball which doesnt bounce like a normmall ball.

Its awesome, and when played right the best sport in the world (untill you have someone on your team who holds the ball too long and dribbles too much not passing at exactly the right time)

Falcao is the man! Just watched some youtube stuff of his! He has everything and even with his dribbling does not pass the ball to late!

yea, but in the US indoor is something totally different, which I explained, which is what makes the US team so virgin to all of this, that was my point

Ok point taken :smileani:but my point is that if USA wanted to play "indoor soccer" against another country it would be in futsal rules, and 5 vs 5 (not 6 vs 6 and not with a "bouncy" ball).

Point is that there is no international competition for USA indoor soccer.

Yeah man, I know, I used to get pissed at this type of thing. Its like I know you can dribble and I know you can take two players on and still have the ball but when I run into space the ball better be there that second or you are flying off the team.

Luckily we have 3 of us who always stuck together and got rid of the guys who didnt grasp this concept in the fiorst game they played.

Argentina won yesterday, and Guatemala suprised Egypt with a 1-0 victory. For some reason Egypt is real good at Futsal too. I usually associate countries with lots of footballing history to be good at futsal, but that is not the case. Futsal is a whole separate thing
