Maradona (1986 - 1987) : Very influence player to Double Champion of Napoli, scored 17 goals in 39 domestic games.

Maradona (1987 - 1988) : Better goal record than previous season and still in his prime of other functional playings, 21 Goals in 37 Domestic Games.

Ronaldo (1996 - 1997) : 40 Goals/41 Domestic Games, FIFA World Player of The Year

Ronaldo (1997 - 1998) : 28 Goals/ 36 Domestic Games

Messi (2011 - 2012): Europe All-Time highest scorer in single season of Domestic League in the last 60 years, 53 Goals/19 Assists/44 Domestic Games.

Dearman IMO Messi 2009/10 was nothing short of a phenomenal season for him In La Liga. His was more just unbelieveable that year IMO even if the numbers are far behind from this season.

Also Henry's 2002/03 was absolutely monsterous. He scored 24 and assisted 23. It was the season of vava boom at its peak.

Ronaldo's 97/98 was pretty standout for a starter but he was outscored by Bierhoff on the whole so I wouldn't include it. It's true that his play was something out of this world (and he did face most of the toughest defenders you can think of in the last 20 years), but I don't think that should be enough to trump other high rollers on the list.

Messi in 2009 - 2010 was performed as a superb dribbler but scoring and assistings effectiveness in 2011 - 2012 season should build a wider gap than dribbling between two seasons.

I think of this as well but I include him since he still perform a phenomenon dribbler among World-Class defenders and he did an easier jobs in La Liga.

dunno what your criterias are but 34goals and 10 assists in the league is a bench mark for many attackers IMO.
Also should not Messi have 56goals and 21 assists in domestic competitions this season or you dont consider Super Cup a domestic competition?

Eusebio in 65 is a must. And I see only offensive players.Franz in72 could be there and also Yashin is verry good option that he was awarded European player of the year 95%for his league performance.

Btw Cristiano this year has been awesome won the league scored 40+ and assisted 10+ in the league. He should be considered too.
If winning the league counts he should be clearly better than messi this season at domestic level.

The same reason as Puskas, I never considered Muller in phenomenon-class. If Muller ever reached phenomenon-class actually, I think he should have been easily regarded in top 10 best ever by many but it is not happen.

well how do you figure that, are you ranking these seasons based upon the level of skill the player exhibited or based on their performance? because based on performance Muller sure was phenomenal

Performance of goalscoring is not only goalscoring result but it is style of goalscoring and its degree of difficulty. Moreover, performance of striker is also not only performance of goalscoring but also performance during the game such as dribbling, passing, teamwork ability, etc.

I understand that but Muller wasn't a scrub playing for a scrub team in a scrub league. He was the best goalscorer of his time playing on one of the greatest European club sides ever and winning the European Cup 3 years in a row. I think he deserves some credit. Maybe his dribbling, passing, teamwork weren't on par with Cruyff but he was smart enough and skilled in other areas to achieve success without them.
