He's still a manager with 2 La Liga titles with Valencia, and 2 UCL finals, that keeps his reputation.

Lippi had a bad experience with Inter, so what?

Yea. and while you are still living in the past with benitez, younger managers like Conte are being hired to bring a breath of fresh air to clubsides.

I cannot imagine any top club hiring benitez. He is now a laughing stock. He opens a website and uses the likes of Guillem Balague to push his name for any top job open? :howler: sad!

By the way, even Avram Grant and Di Matteo have been to the CL Final. Not like its hard to fluke your way there, is it?

Lippi took a team that finished 8th in Serie A after changing coaches 3 times in a season (Simoni-Lucescu-Hodgson-Castellini) and brought us to 4th place after changing the whole team around. He had the team playing a lot better and able to beat some of the big sides, which the team was unable to do in the previous season. He was sacked mainly because the team choked in the CL qualifying match the following season. Basically for one match.

Benitez took a Treble-winning side, decided to change things around when there was no real need to and messed up. There were injury problems that hurt his chances to do well. But various reports indicated that it was his training methods that helped a lot of those injuries come about.

Not quite the same level in terms of bad experiences.

I suppose his stock at the moment is not that high but his expectations are high aswell, regarding the interested clubs aswell as salary. That probably puts him in a somewhat bad position.

Then again, a big club needing to change managers in the middle of the season and he could be back. I guess he is a difficult manager but his track record is not too bad.

yea right! chelsea needed a manager at the middle of the season and went for di matteo, atletico same thing and went for Simeone, Inter Milan 2 times and went for someone else. his reputation is in tatters and he stands no chance of a top team. he better look at the Wolves and Blackburns.
