I rarely start threads here, but had noticed after posting in the 2010 thread that we haven't got one yet for 2011 (Happy New Year all).

I wasn't clear enough, but yes I was referring to your stance on Criscitio. Seems like we all agree that LB along with AM is the weakest link in our team. I call you a hype machine because you are amongst the few here who isn't hesitant about this transfer. Speaking for myself here but the guy is 23 years old and if this transfer goes ahead for the 10million euros its supposedly costing Milan then good or bad we won't be investing there anymore. So I feel like its a big risk. You are contradicting with yourself.
If you are referring to my stance in the Criscito rumour, you may wish to recall that I have always said "he's a solid player and would be an upgrade to our existing LB options". I haven't hyped him nor any other player on top of those lines.

Don't sleep on Strasser the kid is loved by the whole team from management down to the players Cassano groping him is proof enough. To be fair he follows instructions, calls for the ball, plays with confidence, takes his shots well enough. Sure he lacks the flair of someone like Merkel but the kid has a bright future. I hope he stays and give him enough time I am sure he will grow on you.Seriously, I was trying to make a point that I rate Merkel/Verdi and see nothing special on Strasser etc.

when he was near crying after the goal he looked like a 50 year oldIs it just me or does Strasser look like a 30 year old?
There isn't that much to report. Yesterday Braida met with Doriano Tosi (Sporting Director of Sampdoria) and Giuseppe Bozzo (Ziegler's agent). They had a brief meeting and then scheduled another meeting on Friday, where Galliani will also attend.Capo, have you heard anything on the latest Mimmo/Ziegler rumours?

Sampdoria want around €3.5-4 million, and our first offer was €2.5 million. However, it does seem that Sampdoria are preparing the sale of Ziegler, because Tosi have been in contact with Hercules (the Spanish club, not jani) to initiate talks regarding Royston Drenthe. And they've already signed Zsolt Laczko, who is also a terzino.
Should we reach an agreement with Sampdoria, then Ziegler will receive €1.4 million a year until the 30th of June 2014. He currently earns €400.000 a year.
The Criscito-deal is on standby - and contingent on how the Ziegler-negotiations turn out.
plus the half of Astori & either half of Strasser or half of Merkel.btw Cellino is ready to sell Lazzari for at least 10mn E
In CL Zambrotta FTW

Maybe ToniSamp or one of the other guys can fill us in on him.Zambrotta is out for a month due to surgery, I highly doubt he'd recover on time for Spurs.
Back on topic: There is one and only one reason Ziegler is preferred: Money. Fair enough.
I have not watched Ziegler enough to comment whether he's an upgrade over Antonini & Zambrotta. Anyone have a say? Maybe Samp fans?
