The second leg game is about to start in Alvalade and this is our starting line up:
Three changes in what concerns the first leg match played one week ago. Pedro Mendes injured himself in that match and was replaced by the promising André Santos, Yannick leaves space for the slower but much more intelligent Jaime Valdés, and Saleiro gives way for the one and only Levezinho. Like in the first leg game the first goal chance was for FCN but Sporting is controlling the game and the rejuvenated Vukcevic almost scored now at 19'.

At 22' another great chance for us this time from a corner, first by Postiga and afterwards by Liedson. Their keeper saved twice.

At 24' Liedson shot inside the box, the keeper saved, Liedson lobbed the ball over him and Postiga tapped in with a header. Deserved lead and great to see Hélder scoring so soon in the season.

Two nice long distance shots around the half an hour mark leaving the Danish keeper with a lot to do - first Maniche and afterwards Vukcevic. Sporting is playing well.

WOW! Postiga with the ball exactly on the halfway line sees the keeper slightly advanced and makes a beautiful lob which is saved on the goal line by the keeper. Great stuff.

Sporting 1-0 FCN at HT (2-0 on agg.)
The first 15'-20' were slow, typical of this early period in the season but from then on Sporting started playing some good football and reached the lead without much stress. We could have added a couple more but the game and the tie are solved.
Excellent first half by Evaldo (what a great buy that was!) and also by Postiga. Vukcevic and Liedson also had a very good first 45'.

A truly slacking display in this 2nd half almost brought the Halmstad ghosts to Alvalade but we do have a better squad this season and a perfect counter attacking move brilliantly finished by Maniche brought a full stop to the tie.

The draw for the play-off is tomorrow at 13:30 CET
