Cittadella are the second club of Padova (sort of Chievo of Padova) so they have no supporters. The hope is that they remain where they are with the likes of Sassuolo and Albinoleffe, other clubs who are managed very well but who have basically no supporters.
Direct promotion has become pretty difficult for Torino, the hope is that they can come up through play-offs at least.
I see, thanks

Lecce -Cesena
Modena -Brescia
Ancona -Cittadella
Frosinone -Grosseto
Salernitana-Sassuolo
Torino -Vicenza
Crotone -Mantova

Cesena-Modena
Cittadella-Crotone
Grosseto-Reggina
Brescia-Salernitana
Mantova-Torino
Cesena-Modena
Sassuolo-Empoli

Piacenza-Cesena
Padova-Brescia
Modena-Gallipoli
Torino-Cittadella
Empoli-Grosseto
Lecce-Sassuolo
Crotone-Ascoli

They have the best team too, arguably.

Non-promotion could spell chaos for Toro I guess, so they should obviously try to get as high up as possible (league position, rather than PK shoot-out decides the play-off ties).

They were in a lot of trouble against Sassuolo, but in the critical stages, the players who aren't the usual Serie B quality, like Gasbarroni, Sereni, and Bianchi, stood out and saved them.

I wouldn't rule out the small town clubs yet though, since it is Serie B and a lot can be decided by hard-working journey-men (and bookies from Eastern Europe working behind the scenes).

Serie B: promotions, relelgations and playoffs

One more game and even serie B is over.

Lecce 74, Brescia 72, Cesena 71

two of them will be in serie A after the game, one will go to the playoffs. The game is pretty tough for Lecce: Sassuolo at Via del Mare. It's true that Sassuolo already know that their destiny will be decided by the playoffs, but it's also true that it's important for them to try and keep the 4th position.
Away games for Brescia and Cesena, but while Cesena have an easy one at Piacenza (Piacenza have nothing to fight for), Brescia have a tough one at Padova (Padova risk relegation).

Sassuolo 68, Cittadella 68, Torino 65

they already know that they will participate in the playoff but must try to improve their position, infact in the playoffs if two teams are even on aggregate the one with the best position in the standings qualifies to the final (or gains serie A). I have already mentioned Sassuolo playing at Lecce, while Torino and Cittadella face each other at Olimpico.

Crotone 60, Grosseto 60, Albinoleffe 55, Empoli 55, Ascoli 54, Piacenza 53

have nothing to fight for

Frosinone 52, Modena 51, Ancona 51, Reggina 51, Vicenza 50, Triestina 50

must avoid the playoffs for relegation. The position of Frosinone is all but safe because Triestina visit them with the chance to overcome them. I can't honestly see Reggina and Modena losing points at home to Albinoleffe and Gallipoli respectively, while also a win of Vicenza at Salerno looks likely.

Padova 48

also risk direct relegation, above all because their opponent is Brescia

Mantova 47

can just hope for the relegation playoff, but they have to win at Ancona in order to do that

Gallipoli 40, Salernitana 17 (!)

are already back in Lega Pro

congrats to Lecce and Cesena winning automatic promotion to Serie A. Cesena beat Piacenza away and they jump over Brescia who lost to Padova.

Brescia, Sassuolo, Torino and Cittadella are in the playoffs. I think Brescia are the favorites but Torino have a chance as well.

Would be weird if Sassuolo or Cittadella make it to Serie A. I don't think either have ever been in A

Nervous times here, everyone else is thinking about the World Cup, which right now I can't fully focus on because we have two to four more ultra-important games this season that won't be done until after the WC starts (if we make the final).

The semis are 2 and 7 June, while the final games (two-legged) are 9 and 13 June. Torino-Sassuolo and Brescia-Cittadella. I'm glad we didn't have to face Lecce and they got promoted as they have been easily the best in Serie B despite the slow ending. Cesena is a nice story (but I can't say well done, because they beat us out for promotion) as they came up from Serie C last season, so back-to-back promotions from them.

We have split the season series with Sassuolo, but I'm hoping we can beat them, especially since they have not been playing too well and we recently beat them in Modena 3-2, so as long as we can win at home, we should hopefully have a shot. I expect Brescia to beat Cittadella, would be pretty surprised if they didn't.

Interestingly enough, the deciding factor when two scores are tied on aggregate here is the club's league position, as opposed to penalties or away goals. I think it's a pretty good system, but unfortunately Toro have the short end of the stick on this one, as both Sassuolo and Brescia finished higher than us.

Well, we'll see how it plays out Wednesday, FORZA TORO!

As I recall, that's how you were promoted after play-offs last time.

Indeed, though in that case there was extra time, too. We lost 4-2 in Mantova and won 2-0 in regulation in Torino, but there was extra time as well in which both teams scored goals, so it ended up being 3-1 in that last game. Seems kind of silly to me, as it rewards that home team with an extra 30 minutes (though I wanted it to end so badly, Mantova missed a few gilt-edged chances in the extra time period IIRC).
