Ok, maybe it is a bit too early to talk about it, we still have the next World Cup in 2010, but on February 7th the Euro 2012 qualifying will be held.

The pots have been defined and with Israel`s poor campaign in the previous qualifier, we have left Pot 2 (we were the worst of Pot 2 in terms of ranking) and joined Pot 3 (we are now the best in in terms of ranking in Pot 3).

There will be 9 groups in total being 6 of them with six teams and other 3 with five teams each.

Here are the Pots:

Pot 1:

Spain
Germany
Holland
Italy
England
Croatia
Portugal
France
Russia

Pot 2:

Greece
Czech Republic
Sweden
Switzerland
Serbia
Turkey
Denamrk
Romania

Pot 3:

Israel
Bulgaria
Finland
Norway
Ireland
Scotland
Northern Ireland
Austria
Bosnia & Herzegovina

Pot 4:

Slovenia
Latvia
Hungary
Lithuania
Belarus
Belgium
Wales
Macedonia
Cyprus

Pot 5:

Montenegro
Albania
Estonia
Georgia
Moldova
Iceland
Armenia
Kazakhstan
Liechtenstein

Pot 6:

Azerbaijan
Luxembourg
Malta
Faroe Islands
Andorra
San Marino

Thoughts:

IMO, with all the combinations there isn`t a group in which would say we are completely out.

I would rate like this:

Pot 1: We will need to play our best and a miracle to beat
Pot 2: Possible wins, but we are the underdogs
Pot 4: We are favourites, but certainly tricky games
Pot 5: Clear favourites, but being careful with away games
Pot 6: Clear favourites

I dont expect much....
make it easy and we will imagine it being easy until the last game where we play for nothing.

Make it hard and we try to difficult to get a playoff birth that in the end, all we did is falter on something pathetic.

Let us not forget that this is the last Euro with 16 teams. Uefa has decided to increase to 24 teams in 2016. Israel`s chances are better, but knowing ourselves guess we would manage to screw the chance somehow.

so if that is the case that they are making it to 24 teams than its still 1st and 2nd get in...and 3rd vile for a playoff birth? how would it work?

ISRAEL IN 2016 :D

Romania will beat us for sure

So technically from 2016...seeing that Israel usually makes it to 3rd place...than we would automatically be able to go to a playoff spot....technically against 3rd place teams like Israel
Bulgaria
Finland
Norway
Ireland
Scotland
Northern Ireland
Austria
Bosnia & Herzegovina
Slovenia
Latvia
Hungary
Lithuania
Belarus
Belgium
Wales
Macedonia
Cyprus

and get in?

IFA are thinking in the future of our success, we are less than a month from the draw and we don´t even have a new coach and didn´t even book a friendly:rollani:
What a shamble..
but still......
I'd rather have a coach in July than have a coach now.

I dont know why.
If we get a coach now, we would be desperate. If we get a coach later on...we would actually get sloppy seconds of what comes out from the World Cup.

But you are right. Im a NT Fanatic. NT comes first and Friendlies are important like doing shabbat and davaning for me :) WE NEED A FAKING FRIENDLY

Well, you have a point there, we could be desperate and end up having a bad coach at helm. But opinion so far at least from the general public is that Eyal Berkovic is the guy to lead the team. If we won´t get any foreign coach than we should decide now, to begin a planning for the next campaign.
I mean we are having the draw and our representative will be Kashtan who won´t be our coach anymore.:rollani:

I don´t see any movements from IFA in this case, only the media speculating.

I hate how the faking luzons are acting as if they wanna be professional and at par with the European FA's while they act like they are from the schuna.

Still, the main case is getting a draw...I think the coach doesnt have alot of say on what goes around with the draw..only form a team and do some friendlies....

Im eding towards Berkovic too..kinda skeptic, but i think he may be able to do something good...He knows players, but i think he may use this opportunity to be egoistic and cocky..and pick players that may fit the bill or are part of M. Haifa and not let others who need a chance.

The real question is, would he have the courage to call on people like Sechter or Arbeitman and even Harush if needed or would he be a repeat and try to act like he deserves respect for lousy 1-0 or 1-1 matches?

Berkovic has the advantage of being picked the coach because there is a sensation of flaw from our traditional coaches. Berkovic would be the new generation, the one who has the gutts to field an offensive team when and play with intelligence on the pitch, his best quality IMO.

Also, he is not afraid of the media and to be the Israeli NT coach you need to have a very good relationship with them or no fear at all to receive criticism.

And finally, he has the public acclaim. Most of the fans want him and a considerable part of the media aswell.

Avi Luzon apparently won today the elections as IFA chairman and finally (?) we will have some news about our next NT coach? Or let us define better, they will start looking only now:rollani:
