Liverpool Prediction League -- Liverpool vs Southampton

There is a slight changes in the rules. It will be in BOLD

Objective: Guess the score and pick the scorers. Cumulate your points and climb up the standings.

Points:
1) Correct side to win/lose: 5pts
Both sides to draw: 8pts
2) Correct margin of victory (draws not included): 5pts (bonus)
3) Correct score: 15pts (bonus)
4) Correct players to score (per goal): 5pts
5) Special Liverpool defender/midfielders who score (per goal): 5pts(bonus)
(Liverpool defenders/midfielders refers to these players: Carragher, Babbel, Hyypia, Henchoz, Riise, Vignal, Kippe, Wright, Murphy, Biscan, Hamann, McAllister)
6) Own goals for Liverpool (per goal): 5pts (bonus)
7) Liverpool GK who scores (per goal): 20pts (bonus)
8) Special Liverpool player who score (per goal): 5pts(bonus)
9) Predicting 4 goals or more for Liverpool or the opposition more than what the teams actually scores: -5pts per goal (penalty)
10) For taking part: 5pts

*In summary, for predicting correct players scoring against Liverpool you will only get 5 pts per goal.

Rules:
1) Submit prediction of scores and scorers for both sides before match kickoff.
2) Submit names of players who you think will score. If you think a player will score twice, please write his name twice or indicate 2 or something like that. Likewise for hattricks and scoring 4 goals and above.
3) Be logical and sensible.
4) For Rule 8, it is to discourage predicting big scores. If you predict Liverpool to win 5-0 but Liverpool only draw 0-0, you will lose 10 points. If Liverpool win 1-0, you will lose 5 points

Special player: Vladimir Smicer

All Liverpool forumers will not lose points and removed from the competition when they miss predictions.

New non-Liverpool forumers will be allowed to take part on a case-by-case basis.

For full rules and points system, pls refer to previous posts.

Send in your predictions by 1500GMT on Sat 19 Jan. Any queries or comments pls post or PM me. Have fun.

paw-

How do you select your Special Player? Smicer hasn't been in the starting line-up or playing for quite some time. Berger would be the more logical choice, since he starts and plays rugby part-time during matches.

Southampton 2 (Delgardo*) Liverpool 0

* - Man! This Ecuadorian is impressive.

By random is how I choose the Special Player:). It is hard cos not many players score these days and I have elevated several players into the defenders/midfielders scoring bonus points category. But I will stick to Smicer for this time since I think he might be playing and Southampton is not exactly that difficult to win at home.

Delgardo looks impressive I must say. His goal-scoring record at international level stands at 29, if the commentator get it right. And he should have scored with that header. If it had went in, things might not look Southampton 1-3 Man Yoo.:(

Well.. I've looked in my crystal ball... and have foreseen that this is finally the game where we wake up and get back on the right track :D

So.. here goes nothing..

Liverpool 4 Southampton 1

(Anelka, Owen2, Gerrard) (Beattie)

Alright, gotta be more optimistic.

Liverpool 3 (Owen, Anelka, Hyypia) Saints 1 (Pahars)

In response to general appeal, I shall change the special player for this game. Smicer might not play due to an injury.

Special Player: Nicolas Anelka.
