Sporting Gijon 2009/10
Well, as of last year, they will be also fighting to stay in La Liga this year, although they started good last year, but they ended up fighting in the end of the season like we all expected, so I expect them to fight to stay in La Liga, and will probably stay, they have a good squad and have the most important 'fighting spirit". Well the did not have a very much impressive summer in the market, no important arrivals and the same the opposite direction, players like Bilic and Carmelo stayed, Michel aslo remained at the club.

Summer Activity
OUT - Lafuente, Raúl Cámara, Omar (onloan, to Málaga), Colin, Neru, Sergio Sánchez.
IN - Miguel De las Cuevas (transfered from Atletico with an option of re-purchase), Rivera (Free), Arnolin (from Vitória Guimarães), Juan Pablo (from Numancia), Alberto Botía (onloan, from Barcelona), Portilla (transfered from Racing)

Croatian Footballer, had a really good debut season last year in La Liga with Sporting, forms the offensive line of Sporting with David Barral with both of them combining together to score 22 goals last season, Bilic can be dangerous to our defense, he is a good finisher and a good player, a bit lucky too I think, so we better watch out for him.

David Barral

a Spanish player, was one of the best players for Sporting last season, as i said he paired with Bilic to score 22 goals, cost us a lot of problems in Mestalla last year if you guys remember, so we better close down and mark this player well.

Carmelo
Image

I thought that he was sporting's best player in the start of last season, then he started to disappear with the season moving on, as was all the Sporting squad, he was definitely their best player, had a lot of pace on the ball, a lot of vision and was fast, linking up all the team. Spanish attacking midfielder ofcourse, scored 6 goals for Sporting last season.

Diego Castro

another dangerous Sporting player offensively, he is a left winger, but I have seen him play in other positions, scored the winning goal in their last match.

Last Match Analysis
Sporting Gijon 1-0 Almeria

they played with starting line-up

J.Pablo
Lora - Botia - Gregory - Canella
Rivera - Michel
Miguel - Maldonado - D.Castro
Barral

Morran, Camacho and Bilic coming in later on

Sporting Gijon won with the minimum effort, the Almeria players did not even think about approaching J.Pablo goal, Sporting scored their first goal of the season, thanks to a goal from D.Castro in the fifth minute, a cross from Lora, the right fullback to Barral who fails to score but Castro completes off the rebound. for the rest of the match Sporting had serious defending, trying to stop Almeria's left winger Crusat. and they succeeded doing it. The best thing for Sporting in this match was Lora, the right fullback who was solid stoping Crusat and made the assist for the goal.

Teams News
Vicente will be there travelling with the squad.
Preciado has a full squad to choose from.
Manuel Fernandes still out, while Baraja is doubtful.

Match Analysis

David Villa, the first name that comes up when you think about Sporting Gijon, as usual emotional 'i'am not going to celebrate if I score' well i always thought David played bad against Sporting 'intentional?' lol.. anyways he loves us more ofcourse, and he will do his best, and as you all know David Villa said this morning that we should be careful because Sporting surprised us last season in Mestalla, and thats what I think too, they got what it takes to surprise, but morale is high in Mestalla, new grass, fans supporting the team to the maximum, David Villa, Silva, Banega and especially Mata are all on fire, i doubt Sporting Gijon can cope with our offensive line, there is no way we can lose this one if we play like our last 2 matches, if they score 3 we will score 4, thats how its going to go, but sometimes ref and luck can kill you, as of last match, if we score first we will dominate this match and win it wide open. but if they score first we can have some problems, as they all will go back to defend and our team best quality is their counter-attacks. my prediction 4-0 Valencia C.F

umm..yeah we all gonna blow up Mestalla!!! ;)

:dielaugh: i'm disappointed :depress:

just saw the second half highlights of the lille match, and joaquin really deserves to start. but the difference is, i prefer him as an impact player, someone when you look at the bench and say "now that motherfcuker can add something to the game". i just don't feel the same way exactly about pablo, when he's on the bench.
