I am asking, whether they deserve to or not, what is the player from each team under the 4th position, most likely to attract the big clubs of Serie A? By big clubs I refer to the ones that are already established, such as Inter, Juventus, Milan, Roma, but you could I guess still include Fiorentina, Genoa, etc.

Regardless, from each mid-table to relegation team, which player would most likely interest a top team? Thank you for participating in an exercise to get to know our Serie A teams better... Hopefully we get answers for ~15 teams.

PS. Please don't answer Cassano for Sampdoria. It is too obvious and he is already top team skill level.

For Atalanta, you can go much further then Sergio Floccari. He is a good penalty box striker. Works very hard, he is tough, good in the air and seems to know how to find space in the box quite well.

Bologna two players impress me, Marco Di Vaio and Gabi Mundingayi. Gabi reminds me of Momo Sissoko. He is strong, quick, very fit and very tough but he has the technical ability of a 5 year old. He is a solid defensive player who wins his percentage of tackles and possessions but would distrupt build up too much if he was at a big club. Marco Di Vaio is a very well rounded striker. He has a very good shot, can create goals, works hard and is strong enough as well as technically assure enough to hold up the ball and turn. Still age has hit him just as he reaches form.

Cagliari's best player is actually owned by Inter. Aquafresca is very fast and can score goals but his player is really unrefined.

Sergio Pellissier would be my pick from Chievo. He is very athletic, knows how to use his pace well, very good in one on one situations and he scores goals.

I will post my thoughts on some more players later

An excellent idea!

CAGLIARI
Francesco Pisano (Right/Left Back): probably trumps Michele Canini, Cagliari's central defender (Aqufresca is owned by Inter, of course), because he has blistering pace, is tenacious in the tackle, technically sound and can play on either side of the pitch in defence.

How can Genoa be considered a big club?

Milito and Thiago Motta

Thats a very good question, and this thread didnt start off well with...Mudingaye :howler:

Though that perhaps says more about Bologna. But I would think mentionning Britos, or Osvaldo, is more warranted. First player I mention is strongest possibility, rest add ons:

Atalanta: Floccari, Cigarini, Guarente.
Bologna: Di Vaio, Osvaldo, Britos.
Catania: Morimoto, Mascara.
Cagliari: Marchetti, Pisano, Jeda.
Chievo: No one....if someone, Pellisier, Yepes?
Fiorentina: Frey, Gila, Mutu. Equal between all 3.
Genoa: Milito, Bocchetti, Thiago Motta.
Lazio: Zarate, Pandev.
Lecce: No one....Caserta? :pp or Milan buys Pato's buddy Edinho.
Napoli: Hamsik, Lavezzi.
Palermo: Miccoli, Cavani, Kjaer.
Reggina: Their players will go to Serie B, except Corradi, Brienza, Barreto.
Sampdoria: Campagnaro, Palombo.
Siena: Zuniga.
Torino: Rosina.
Udinese, Zapata, D'Agostino, Quagliarella. Mr Christmas might be too old to interest Roma.

I included Fiorentina and Genoa because they seem to be having a lot of money lately. I could be wrong about Genoa though.

Osman I hope your long list given in one post won't kill my thread :p. At least I like the fact you gave a few choices because most first names are too obvious.

What about Galloppa at Siena? More guys on Torino?

Isn't Kjaer more likely to join top 4 than Miccoli and Cavani?

I wonder if Pandev will ever get the interest from Roma or some team like that. He's been sometimes pretty good.

etc

I think the top 3, Inter, Juve and Milan will most likely go and try pick up defensive reinforcements.

So I guess the most likely ones are the names that have already been mentioned like Kjaer, Santacroce, Zapata and maybe Criscito and Paolo Cannavaro.

Yes I hope Rosina moves from Torino, even if of course he is not good enough for a big team.

There seems to be a lack of Italian defensive talents outside the big 4. It will be interesting anyway to see Juve and Milan in their transfer campaigns because both need central defenders.

Udinese: Felipe (central defence)

Now he has recovered from injury, he is turning in some excellent eprformances. He reads the game well, his ability to maintain concentration - evidenced by excellently timed tackles - is noteworthy and he is fast, which is particularly important in European games.

Rosina isn't a hero at Torino because he is never played there. This player has the talent and the physical ability to play for a top club. The physical ability is, especially, what differentiates him from a player like Marchionni, blazing speed and the ability to dribble with the ball at that speed can't be taught and Rosina has that ability in spades.

Marchionni doesnt lack physical ability. But yeah, Rosina is a better dribbler.

But Rosina is vastly overrated, has skill, but there should be no talk of top team this or that when he is being this average. At best, Roma who cant get much quality and have the likes of Baptista and Perrotta, should get him.

P.S Yeah quivering, Asamoah was very good against Inter. But he seems to be the typical african player, he went from hot and cold all the time. At times couldnt pass for shit, and then just breezed by everyone etc.
