Well, maybe they needed to analyze him better.

For Ivory Coast he basically carries the team, whilst for Chelsea he just waits for long balls.

Two different kinds of situations.

Lippi would replace Tassoti as an assistant manager to Mourinho who signed a pre-ontract with Milan, unless we become like the sweedish national team :lala:

While Lippi is a really great coach, I consider him a Juve symbol and therefor I would rather have Mourinho if Carlo leaves.

It would be pretty exciting to see what Lippi can do with this squad but it would be even more so to see what Mourinho can do or even what Carlo can do given the proper funds and signings.

What's slightly 'disturbing' for me is that if he comes, he supposedly wants Peruzzi as his #2

Talking about this, say if Mourinho comes, does this mean the whole team management staff will be changed as well? Billy and Tassotti out?

No way then! Carlo all the way if thats the case.

It's quite common that a coach brings his own team, isnt it? Not really a suprise to hear that Lippi would probably bring in his own team.

Maybe that's why Galliani once said that the next Milan coaches will be former Milan legends.

As long as it isn't MvB... as much as I would love to see him in a suit with the Milan logo onto it, but as a coach, he simply sucks.

Rijkaard indeed fills the bill. Or it will be one of the assistants (Tassotti most likely).

I wouldn't exactly feel confident if Tassotti or Baresi took over. They are still very unproven. We could have a case like Ferguson/McClaren :D

Maybe they could try their hands at other Serie A clubs first.

Even if thats the case, Donadoni certainly looks a very possible candidate

I don't really find anything about him to be particularly exciting though.

I'm not to impressed by Donadoni either. Baresi? I doubt it. Since his little adventure in Fiorentina and his return to Milan, he has not worked as a coach anymore. The primavera is coached by F. Galli.

Capello was absolutely unexperienced as well when he took over from Sacchi (not counting the few matches he coached us before Sacchi came). Sacchi was basically very unexperienced as well (no Serie A experience we he took over). And Liedholm was another one that coached us without any experience before ;)

Why shouldnt be Tassotti the next one?

PS: Just checked out our youth sector a bit. In every single category where we play with our cugini in the same group, the nerazzurri are capolista. Apparently they are doing something right if it comes to youth system.
Another thing that seemed odd to me is the lack of foreign players in our youth sectors.

That's it too. They sign young gifted foreigners. We stick with Italian youngsters mainly.

Either way neither team plays their Primavera players much anyway.

Its the same story every time..

A slightly above average player comes through the system > Everyone gets excited > He can't outplace the current star in his position > Sent on loan to random Italian club > Does well there > 50% sold to that club > Still deemed not better than afro mentioned star > Stays at loaned club permanently > Ends up average footballer.

So many cases like this. Too many in fact.

For the record, Milan Channel's director Mauro Suma dismissed the Lippi speculation yesterday on Telelombardia. He added to a journalist of Corriere dello Sport he's ready even to bet against the move happening.

Jani I think it's worth having the system if it means the chance of a Maldini coming up :hopeful:

Maldini have complained about Milan's youth teams hopefully he'll do something about it when he hangs up his boots.
