Well, unfortunately, Hernan Crespo pulled a thigh muscle and had to leave at halftime against milan on sunday.

I taped the game, but he didnt do anything special to get this injury. He felt the strain and went right to the side for treatment.

The trainer was rubbing his muscle for a while, but it was obvious that it was no joke that he would most likely be out of the game.

When he went to the side, he was screaming out very loud and very angry to why this had to happen now, when his team needs him the most. Before the injury, he was waiting for decent passes, not he did not see any of them. He was very upset and frustrated every time his teammates screwed up with their passes. He was the most emotional out of all the players.

To me, it looked like he was playing the WC finals and couldnt believe that he was so unlucky when his team was in need of the win.

He was upset about how the game had gone and how he had missed a couple of oppertunities that he could have done better.

Overall, he just couldnt believe that everything was going wrong.

His injury is said to be the same as Nesta, who got injured in the same game!

Nesta said he will probably miss a couple of games, but the results will be presented after a medical test on monday by the lazio doctors.

Wow...

Bielsa must have extrasensitive powers. He surprises everyone not calling Crespo, next thing you know, Crespo is injured...
Very strange.

thanks for the report Argentina

HC must be wondering if he is replaying what happened before World Cup '98. Same thigh injury.

Luckily this injury is long enough before WC for him to recover in time to regain his form.
Fingers crossed.

Yep
as we realy need ****ing bad news......thats bullsh!t

anyway...we can't hate it very much when we look to the bright side...he will have a needed rest...he is not injured immeditly before the WC....he is already in need for a psychologist treatment...everything he needs will get thru this month and half...but an injury is such a let-down for him.....

prayers for you Valdanito

Hernan Crespo, who suffered a strain in his left thigh, will not play for 45 days. He was one of four Lazio players injured last Sunday. Today he will get an ecograph to get more detail of the injury. Crespo will need 15 days of physical therapy, 15 day of work in the swimming pool, and the he will begin training with the ball.

Diario-Ole

Doctor Andrea Campi has diagnosed a first grade distension in the femoral biceps of the left thigh. Translation: out for at least 40 days. It is now probably that Crespo will not return to play any more qualifying matches with the national team. The last match is November 14 against Uruguay. So Bati has lost his principal competitor for the starting position.

Hernan believes the injury was a result of his nervousness because Lazio was not doing well and he had gone 5 matches without scoring. "I was very tense," Hernan said. "I did not sleep well the night before the match."

But Doctor Campi looked for other reasons. "There is more than one cause. I think that Lazio's problems have affected the players, but the pitch was in bad shape and the difference in climate between Rome where it was warm and Milan where it was cold and rainy."

It is Crespo's third serious injury in Italy. Last season he sprained a muscle in his left thigh during a match vs. Inter for the Supercopa on September 8, 2000. But worse yet was the injury on April 19, 1998 (Lecce-Parma) a tear in his right leg which caused him to miss the end of the Serie A season and caused him to be off-form during World Cup '98.

I don`t think if you`re only a Argentina fan that you should worry but If you`re a Lazio fan, I`ll say that you shouldn`t count on beeing even a scudetto contender. It may be early but I`m pretty sure that you guys have had such a bad start that It`s way to bad to come back. It`s a complete mess.

I wish you luck Laziali`s!

I doubt Batigol has such low-class to want a player to be injured Demon Heut, I doubt anyone here at Xtratime would be so low. I don`t know which Batigol you`re talking about but all of them don`t have low class

Injuries suck.

Crespo will come back.

Bati is still a magnificent player.

Both men are wonders to the world of football. To stay *complete,* Argentina need both.

And, as fans, we need to bond together :) High five to you, Batigol supporters! Believe, Crespo Baby fans!

You make me hope for better when HC will come back, Bonita.

Though I read that according to Clarin 75% of Argentine people prefer to see Bati in attack. I can't believe this, it can't be true!!!
Crespo plays all the time and shows all his best but people in Argentina still want Bati.

However Bati is still a key player and Argentina needs him so much. So go, Bati!

this is very good news for Hernan.

A few months ago it was 80%

Batistuta is liked more by the people just because he has played a lot longer and because of the record , I don't think anyone denies that Crespo has become just as important lately. But Nostalgia favors Bati.

One small step at a time, eh;)

So, here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Ernie, and a good game for Bati. Argentina needs both of them fit and raring to go come next summer.
