IMO Totti is perhaps on his way down, but still one hell of a player. I would love to see him play for us, but at the same time I´m glad that he choosed to stay with Roma. Football needs these icons. Never liked Del Piero, even when he was at his best. But I would gamble on Adriano. He only lacks confidence IMO.

Totti won't leave Roma for anyone,I mean imagine the riots if he was to leave the capital.

Emerson has always done well in Italy. He is a solid defensive midfielder who tends to get grief because fans expect brazilians to be more brazilian when they play. Emerson is not.

If we got Emerson it would really be a case of bringing in a name just cuz he's available. We don't need him except for maybe more depth with Pirlo, Ambro and Gattuso.

No, to be fair, yes, we need him.

Emerson a defensive midfielder. But he is also Brazilian. Which means he can attack as well.

Emerson would be able to play in our system in place of Rino, Pirlo and Ambro.

Im all for signing him. But of course, not as the mysterious summer signing

If we bring in Emerson he is going to start, which means we sit one of the other three. I;m not sure I want to do that.

And yeah, he is brazilian but he does not attack much at all. That's why brazilians don't like him. He is an unbrazilian brazilian.

I havent seem him much at Real but at Juve I think it was pretty clear he could play.

And do you think he's going to start? I didnt think so, but now you've mentioned it, its got me thinking.

But basically with him on board, we've got three players for two pure DM spots. With Ambro injury prone and Gattuso always giving unearthly amounts of energy.. Its not too bad.

Depth is always nice, so I hear you. I just had not pegged DM as a big need but with Ambro always hurt and Gattuso needing to rest at some point, perhaps emerson coming cheap is smart.

Emerson can play, he is just not very dynamic and definitely not the samba style player you expect when you think brazilian. He's more italian or even German in style (probably why he so well in both countries).

I am not trying to portray Emerson as a destroyer. He can play and make a good play but he is not going to win many style points.

To address your other question; I think emerson leaves Real Madrid in search of playing time and a starting job. I don't think he is so old that he is looking for a backup/squad rotation gig.

Emerson will play whenever Pirlo/Rino is exhausted or Ambro is injured, and judging from last 3 seasons, these situations happen a lot.

And remember guys we are in five competitions next season. Imagine this, a crucial CL knockout game in is 3 days time and you want to give a rest to a clearly tired Pirlo, but the league title is still at reach, you rather seeing some unknown guys like Barusso to start as DMC or a reliable Series A proven players like Emerson?

I am not a fan of him too, but I think he'd be very useful in Carlo's system, and Carlo himself has confirmed this.

Barusso. We need to start buying for the future, not becoming a retirement home for over the hill footballers. It's inspite of our poor squad that we won the CL, not because of it. There are about 6 current players who shouldn't be in our squad next season - Kalac, Fiori, Favalli, Borreillo, Oliveira, Grimi, and you can include Gila if he keeps moaning like a kid. Stop missing sitters, and he'll have a point. Otherwise he should shut up.

I like young stars as well, Kaka, Messi, Cesc, Nani, Anderson, Ribery... who don't love them? They are a joy to watch, but aren't they exceptions rather than a normality? What's the chance of having another Kaka to dig out from Series B?

but considering it's Milan we are talking about, buying a Barusso(do anyone actually see FULL match of him instead of youtube videos?) could mean Pirlo playing 50 matches again and Barruso featuring in 4 to 5 coppa matches ONLY...

While a reliable backup like Emerson/Edmilson/Motta could give a breather to Pirlo and they can be trusted to start in the biggest matches, we all know how much Pirlo improve everytime he gets some rotation and some rest...

And we have failed to find a half-decent back up to him in past 3 years, since the depature of a depleted-Redondo...

We definitely need a DM, don't know if Emerson is the right one, but a starting DM is needed, an absolute must. We have a long season ahead, and Ambro's physical situation is well documented. And this season we lacked depth big time in midfield anyways.

Emerson looks to be one of Milan's main targets for the summer. I would be happy with this signing because he would provide a class replacement for Ambrosini or Gattuso.

For me the mystery transfer possibility has to be Del Piero. Ancelotti LOVES this player and to be completely honest he is the type of player we need. I for one would be all for signing Del Piero to play in support of Ronaldo...

...imagine that a former Juve hero setting up a former Inter hero at Milan that would be priceless :happy:

boys im starting to panic, seems that no one wants to come to milan, completly to what has been said by milan officials, they daid that players didnt want us before but now they do, i honestly want to know who those players are, because, eto'o, ronnie, sheva have all said theyr staying. wtf!!!

please tell me wer not gona start the new season with only emerson comming in.

i wouldnt be surprised, considering how shit milan are in signing quality players, enough geezers please!!!

Stop panicing. Of course players will say they are to stay unless they are being pushed out and quality players seldom are. Sheva said that to us last year for example.

saying we are shit in singing quality players is just silly too.
