After the events in New York yesterday, I didnt really feel like coming here to discuss the Mallorca match... :(

Yeah, i've been watching CNN for many hours now and the attacks are horrible. My prayers go out to those who lost families, friends, relatives, anyone in the attacks. My friend's bro who's in Washington hasn't called at all. Hope he's ok. :(

Who cares about soccer at the moment when something like this goes on!?! I couldn't care less that we lost 1-0 to Mallorca.

How could people be so sick to do this, and then clap and cheer that thousands of people dies?

 :( :depress:

as for myself... (take a wild guess) i too have to commit myself to school, along with football, hence the lack of posting.

honestly, i'm not in the mood for much communication, since i had quite a dismal week, and now yesterday's tragedy :frownani: just make things really overwhelming. it's terrifying, being american (and from just outside new york city as well), though i haven't been back to the states for several years now... absolutely surreal, like it can only happen in a movie, only that it is in fact real.

today i had a school match, it was nice to be able to pay respects in a minute's silence for the victims (and to win 5-0 for them in that way).

it is conforting to know, though, that the world is united in condeming such an evil act, and that everyone is supporting everyone else through this difficult time.

ditto, mate.

yeah, I haven't posted in a while because I've been busy at school.

The recent events in NY and DC are tragic..... Being from DC myself I feel especially close to it. For example, the bomb that exploded outside the state department is only 3 blocks from my Dad's office....One of my Mom's tennis partner's had to stop in the middle of their match the other day because she found out her husband's best friend was on one of the flights that crashed into the towers.....The president of one of the fraterneties at my college left for home yesterday because his dad works at the top of one of the towers, and the kid hasn't heard from his Dad yet...

This is awful. Even worse than Oklahoma City.

In a time like this football doesnt mean a thing...

I followed the news whole day yesterday and this is bad...really really bad...
10 000 innocents lifes taken...why?
When USA decides to strike back, and yes they will, they will show no mercy and I fear what they will do...
I just hope not more innocents lifes will be taken...

When I saw those Palestanians jump up and down in joy and cheering I just sad to myself "They might hate USA more than anything, but do they really feel it's pleasing when 10 000 persons dies and the whole world is in jeopardy???"

No animal can kill us, the only threat to human kind are ourselfes...when people do a thing like this you have to put the question "Why cant we be united? why cant we fight toghether against whats really important?"
When the human kind will dissapear from this world it wont have anything to do with some big meteor hitting the earth, no, we ourselfes, will kill ourselfes...
Arent we smarter???
A day like this I cant see that anyhow...

I hope the ones who did this will feel the pain from all 10 000 dead americans when they will be executed...

Condolences

I personally would like to offer my condolences to friends and families who are involved in the tragic terrorist attack against the US late Wednesday morning...:depress:

I have lost 2 of my pen-pals in the tragedy... May they rest in peace...

Personally, US had underestimate its foe. Though such attack is against humanitarian and intolerable... The US could have avoided such calamity that have been brought upon them if they had been a little sensitive over foreign issues... Taiwan-China issues and Palestine-Israel issues. Their "politically bias" roles they(US) play are the ignition to such attacks.

I hope the US will realise this and play a more mature role or more innocent lives will be taken unnecessarily.

Again, I would like to offer my condolences to the victims of this fateful tragedy...

May God bless you.

pay tribute to americans. I'm in:depress: to post anything. Arsenal game wasn't heart me so much than before after the NY tragedy have made me:depress:

Wise Up!

Hey guys... What's happening here?!

After this mourning, don't you think is high time for everybody to move on... I don't know about you 2 (Wakks and Gareth), but if this dormant activity continues, I think we're gonna lose many forum activists...

So you guys decide... ... ...:(

For a couple of day`s our gouverment talked about having highest possible security on our airbases and I did my militaryeducation as an Airbaseranger.
On tuesday evening I got an phonecall from my commanders and they told me to be ready to leave on short notice. So for the last couple of day`s I have just been at home waiting for THAT last phonecall, I was`nt allowed to leave my home for more than 2 hours in a row.
This morning they phoned me and told me that the "storm" was over and that I could go back to work.

I can tell you people one thing, I have never been so scared in my whole life.

It was a sad thing to happen, but one of the points of mourning is to move on with your life. I also have noticed the lack of activity here, and if everyone doesn't start posting here, than we may lose our status as one of the best forums in xtratime.

Im not worried that people will dissapear from the forum because of this but I dont know about you, but Im still in a shock...

Dont worry guys, we'll get the forum bumping again, you got my word on that! :)

It is to be expected that the forum will be a bit quiet at the moment after what happened, but it will soon get going again.

I have merged all the World Trade Center & Pentagon posts into this thread, so this will be the place to post thoughts on the terrible events we have seen this week.

yes, there's nothing to be worried about guys! ;) (blame the homework... :irritate:  )

Of course we must seek some kind of revenge against those responsible and countries that support terrorists.... but if they launch military strikes against Afghanistan because they are harbouring Osama bin Laden, innocent Afghans will die because of their rulers stance. That can't be right?

Where are we headed guys...? :depress: :depress: :(
