We've just signed two French super kids, Anthony Le Tallec and Florent Sinama-Pongolle. These lads are superb! Gerard Houllier is god, think about our future...

Kirkland, Wright, Traore, Vignal, Navarro, Le Tallec, Sinama-Pongolle, Sjölund, Baros, Raven, Miles, Welsh, Owen, Gerrard, Heskey, Riise...etc!

We've many very good young players at the moment! Le Tallec has been allready named "the new Platini" and Sinama-Pongolle is excellent striker! They will join us before start of season 2003-2004.

Our strikers in couple of years:
Baros, Hesket, Owen, Sinama-Pongolle, Sjölund and Welsh!!:D

Any other info on them?

These informations are from footballtransfers.co.uk. Sinama-Pongolle has been listed 6th promising player in the world and Le Tallec 13th promising. There you go Paw::)

Name: Florent SINAMA PONGOLLE
Current Club: Le Havre (Fra)
Nationality: France
Date of Birth: ??/??/84
Position: Striker
Previous Clubs: None
International Status: U-16 international
Height/Weight: ??/??
Comments: Sinama Pongolle is a young striker capable of great things. A player of the excellent Le Havre youth academy, he starred during 2001’s U-16 European Championship, leading France to the final of the competition only to lose to Fernando Jose Torres’ Spain. Pongolle scored 6 goals in as many matches during the tournament, including a world-class display against England, where he scored two superb goals in France’s 4-0 thrashing of the host team. Sinama’s main assets are his pace, balance, dribbling skills and sharp finishing. Despite not being the biggest he’s not bad in the air and can hold up the ball relatively well. He tries to score from everywhere and keeps the opposing defenders on their toes. He’s quick, turns well, has great acceleration and excellent movement off-the-ball. He loves taking on players and that comes quite easy for him. Both he and teammate Anthony Le Tallec have been linked with combined 4.5 million pounds moves to English Premier-league clubs Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Fulham and to Italian Serie A outfit Fiorentina. The two players have reportedly had visits at Manchester United and at Fiorentina but seem to have favoured the English club.

Name: Anthony LE TALLEC
Current Club: Le Havre (Fra)
Nationality: France
Date of Birth: ??/??/84
Position: Striker/Centre-Forward
Previous Clubs: None
International Status: U-16 international
Height/Weight: ??/??
Comments: Anthony Le Tallec is a simply brilliant prospect. When you see him you right away know that he’s a special player. I can’t really categorize him. He’s not a big old-fashioned centre-forward like say Oliver Bierhoff and he’s not a nippy forward like Michael Owen. He’s not the Thierry Henry type as well.
Le Tallec is a tall, big player, very athletic. He’s excellent in the air. He’s fast for a man of his height. He’s a good dribbler though not an outstanding one. He likes to take players on but he doesn’t do it too constantly. He doesn’t really play as the one leading the line, he plays behind Sinama Pongolle for France and he’s the one whose job is to supply the balls to Pongolle. He’s capable of truly spectacular things. Chips, scissor-kicks, long-range crackers, beautiful headers, it’s all in his repertoire. Then again he can miss a three-yard sitter as well. He can be quiet the whole game and then score a stunning goal from a free-kick, a header, a cracking shot from distance, you name it, he’s got it. He has good vision, he’s very imaginative, but his distribution is not good enough; the accuracy of his passing is still not perfect. He has an amazingly strong left-foot. He’s good at set-pieces and he’s very clever. Le Tallec is just an amazingly gifted player and an unpredictable one as well. One never knows what to expect of him. Nevertheless, any team would love to have him as he’s from the ones who decide games, he’s just special.

Sounds good, doesn't it?

:D

Is there some kind of report that says Liverpool have signed them or going to sign them?

Just curious. Dun get my hopes even higher and then later finding out that we will not sign them.

paw;) ;)

Thanks Finnish Red. I saw that. Did u also notice that Liverpool put a Bolton-Liverpool match pic on the front page? We lost to them.

Perhaps, we can loan some of our young stars to Le Havre. Like Stephen Wright, Richie Patridge. It will gain them some exposure and experience.

I've been wondering why there's picture from Bolton game, it was horrible game.

It's very good that we have many good youngsters at the moment. Le Tallec and Sinama-Pongolle are excellent players, what I've heard. I saw them playing in U-17 championships in England and they were pure class! Pongolle scoered six and Le Tallec five!

France beat USA 5-3!

France beat USA yesterday 5-3 in U-17 World Championships in Trininad&Tobago. Liverpool player Florent Sinama-Pongolle scored hat-trick! Other Liverpool player Antohy Le Tallec was named officially man of the macth! These lads are great talents! France lost their first game 2-1 to Nigeria and guess who scored their only goal? Sinama-Pongolle!;)
France have scored six times and Sinama-Pongolle has scored four of them. Last summer in U-16 European Championships Florent Sinama-Pongolle was the best goal scorer and Antohy Le Tallec was one of the best players there. These two young French kids are wounderfull players! I Can't wait to see them in LFC shirt!:D

SINAMA-PONGOLLE AND LE TALLEC ARE GREAT TALENTS!

but won't it be a french invasion in liverpool in the future????
i dun wan liverpool to be like arsenal, they r lousy.
sad to know that england dun have such talents in their country when france keeps on producing some good players

But I guess somethings can't be helped. After all, GH is French. Secondly, France is currently the WC and EC. And it looks good to carry on for the next few years. Therefore French players are highly sought after. Thirdly, with Burgess, our French coach last season, now in France as a manager, he will no doubt alert GH about the latest developments from the French youth product system and his reviews and comments to GH will no doubt be beneficial to GH when GH considers his purchases.

So I think it is no harm getting French players for the team. Ironically, there is not a single well-established Frenchman playing for us now, but next time, who knows if Vignal might be the next Lizarazu.

I don't think clubs should make stupid pre-contracts with youngsters like this, the players are both 17 and will join liverpool in 2 years when they are 19,what if they have changed their mind then?or if they are not as good anymore?they might just aswell arrive in 2003 to liverpool just to find out that they have no chance playing firs team football.I would have preferd seeing them signing someone older 20,21 who would arrive right now instead!

What Liverpool has on them is pre-contractual agreement and first option on them. As far as how their progess within these two years prior to coming to Liverpool is concerned, they will only be trained under the watchful eyes in France. It is a risk to sign these young players not knowing if they will be some star one day, but with increasing transfer fees for even untried and untested stars in England these days, Liverpool has its rite reasons to sign them at this age.

Remember when Murphy came to us from Crewe. We had to pay 3 million pounds for him. Then, Murphy was a big unknown. Imagine what happens if Murphy had languished in Liverpool reserves for years before transferring out? Then wouldn't others say Liverpool had pay silly $$ for someone so untested?

So it is a risk these days with signing young players these days.

They did it again! :D

France won Japan 5-1 and Florent Sinama-Pongolle socred a hat-trick AGAIN! :dazed: Antohony Le Tallec assisted four goals!:dazed:
Sinama-Pongolle has now scored two hat-tricks in row and seven goals in three games!:D  He was man of the match against Japan!
Le Tallec was man of the match against USA and now he setup FOUR goals!
France will play against Brazil in quarter-final!

THESE LADS ARE OUR FUTURE!:D

I taped the game down and watched the first 5 minutes of it. Impressive is all I can say about the French No9 and No7. Their inter-link play is good. But probably Japan is weak so it made them look good. I will be watching more of the game later tonite.

All thanks to Finnish Red who said that they are playing in U-17 World Championship.

paw:tongue:

Their play in the game against Japan is (once again I repeat) breathtaking. Simply simply amazing. Le Tallac is strong and fast, skillful and has a good vision. And has a very good repertoire of tricks. Sinama-Pongolle is decisive and sharp in finishing and can finds space in the tightest of markings.

Overall the French side play through them and often supply Pongolle with balls for him to run at the Japanese. It is indeed very lucky for Liverpool to snap both of them up. Hopefully they will improve under supervision and improve to be very very good players.
