No club is safe? The owners of Manchester United have abolustely no intention of seeling a player like Ronaldo, not even for £100 million. Your transfer policy is a joke, just waving cash around worse than Chelsea, annoying the hell out of everyone by 'declaring' you want their player. It will come back to bite your club in the ass.

You know money is spent on other stuff in a club ... like wages, upkeep etc, spread over to the next stupidly big TV deal.

Here's the scenario:

1. Real will use AS & Marca to unsettle the player,
2. Real will use agents not affliated with the club to approach the players agent and offer a deal that would earn the player between 6-8M per year.
3. Selling club will make threats and proclaim player not for sale
4. Player will make intention public that they want to play for Real
5. Real will pay large sum to the club
6. Real will have media day with the player doing trick in front of local supporters

seen this thing numerous times

Manchester United can match that offer, we are paying Rio £100,000 a year. What do you by 'not affilated'? shady middle men? a persuit fitting a club of your class

This is the Glazers here, they are probably the most secretive owners in football, they will never show there hand. You underestimate how ruthless they can be too.

That article's a lie.

Capello made it very clear last summer he did not want Cristiano Ronaldo. Furthermore, Capello's "requests"(RvN, Cannavaro, Emerson) don't make sense with a CR17 capture.

We'll move for him in the summer of '08, not now, and I really think that article's complete BS.

Yeah, which is why we've just signed Marcelo, Higuain and Gago.

This is a completely different regime, it's funny to see people still living in the Florentino Perez era.

Anyways, C.Ronaldo- Nobody makes a 40 million euro bid in January for a cup-tied player.

Nonsense story.

We'll probably go in for him in the summer, though.

Yup.

In the summer of '08, Capello, RvN, Emerson, Cannavaro, Salgado and Roberto Carlos are all gone. Ronaldo will probably be gone, too(our fat one, that is).

I don't see the boy leaving for this season and next. I think he's a shoe-in for EPL Player of the Year this year and will win it next season, making him want to move onto Real Madrid in '08 when the aforementioned people all leave.

You guys only want him for shirt sales. Even if you invest 100M, you'll get your money back with the merchandise sales + profit. Not only that, but Ronaldo alone brings popularity for the Premiership and that's a Plus for the league.

But hey, if you do get him, make sure the opposition BOOOES him while he mesmerizes the opponents. More BOOOS = more Ronaldo Goals, assist = Championship Team

How much clearer does this need to be made for people?

Were _ANY_ of RvN, Higuain, Reyes, Gago, Diarra, Emerson, Marcelo, or Cannavaro for shirt sales? No. None of them, not one.

Real Madrid would want Cristiano Ronaldo because he's the best player in the world. That's why. Not for any other reason.
