Yeah, we saw how he thrived last year. In fact, his reactions on the way out may grant him something special this time.
That was last year, this year he's been abused and booed like hell at every away ground and he responds to it by becoming the best player on the pitch, again again and again.

At 21 yrs old the once young boy has become a man.

Rui Costa and Nuno Assis have been ruled out of Benfica's UEFA Champions League match with Manchester United on Tuesday.

The clubs go head-to-head in the second match of Group F with United anxious to avenge last season's exit from the competition at the hands of the same opponents.

The Estadio da Luz side have been boosted by the recovery of centre back Ricardo Rocha, but will be without their experienced pair of attacking midfielders.

Coach Fernando Santos has Kostas Katsouranis, Georgios Karagounis and Armando Petit (pictured) at his disposal as replacements, but could also opt to change his system.

FC Copenhagen held the Portuguese outfit to a disappointing 0-0 draw in their opening match, so the fixture has taken on added importance.

Probably because he is a Sporting Lisbon kid, and Benfica have a real psychological problem with the green and whites.
Cristiano is a benfica fan, that's why he was so disappointed last year.

We call them Watermelons, Green on the outside, Red on the inside.
But there's more, Luis Figo being the most famous one. And we're not a top European club as it was mentioned before, but with a full squal we can knock anyone out.
Also, Nuno Assis won't play, but Rui Costa has a 50-50 chance of playing

Let's just hope for a good game and the same outcome as last year

Its gonna be a tough match but i think our boys are gonna be fired up for this one coz of last years result and outcome.

I predict a 2-0 win for United with the phenomenal Cristiano getting a brace!!

To fall down as if being shot due to the slightest of touch is a norm with these Portuguese teams and I have seen enough games of Porto, Benfica and Sporting to form my judgement. It's like watching a team with 11 Jose Antonio Reyes'.:rollani:

If one of our boys do get sent-off thanks to their pathetic theatrics then I hope that it is at the expense of a broken leg of one of the Benfica players. Cheaters deserve no respect in my opinion.
Aah....yes. How can we forget that you boys don't dive and cheat...If it weren't for a Louganis like Giggs dive the other day, Celtic would have taken points at OT.

I just hope that ********* Rooney doesn't step in Ronaldo's nut sack while attempting to tackle our glorious eagle before the game.
