It just hit me...one week ago today I was so upset and angry with AC Milan that I was preparing to write a nasty email to the general address, to let them think of what I thought of their transfer BS....and 24 hours later I was in a state of sheer euphoria. Now it's a wweek later, and I am STILL having to remind myself that the dream is reality, Rui Costa will be wearing a Milan jersey next season...and it's ONE WEEK away from training camp opening!

I don't know about you all, but I feel like I've been thru a wringer this transfer season. the rumors flew hot and heavy since February or March it seems, and I remember we kept sayiong that things would get better when the season ended. Things didn't get better; instead I think it got much, much worse with rumors (or was some of it actual news reporting on what was actually going on?) changing hourly in some cases. So the comparison that just struck me was that I feel like I've been on a rollercoaster ride, much the same feeling I had when I left the movie theatre the first time I saw The Mummy Returns. Like I'd been thru a whirlwind, had been holding my breath sceaming "please please please!" and all of a sudden it turned out OK. And yes, I mean it, I still am reminding myself we landed Rui Costa.

So next Monday we should hopefully be hearing and seeing some reports from camp, maybe seeing some clips of the squad on the field. I was thinking too...last Monday and before then, I wasn't very excited about the new season....now, I can hardly wait to see our gladiators out there, conquering the league! I have a real good and positive feeling about this squad, maybe just one or 2 nagging concerns but we'll see how things go once the season gets under way. I feel we'll be a challenging team next season, top 4 or better. Call that an early prediction if you want, I usually call things better in August. I will say this, I think the league is going to have to take some notice of us this coming year...

Yeah, this transfer season was a real rollercoaster. We went from nothing , to freaking Inzaghi :wth:, to we don't need to Rui because we have Serginho :howler:, to having 8 central midfielders , to finding that Galliani has called the season closed , to reading that Coloccini might be going on loan again  and that defense could possibly make us all :nervous: again this year.

I'm happy altogether with what we've done, but I would feel a lot better knowing what our defense will be like. The rest of our team is very solid. We may be looking at aother Juve-Milan battle to the finish.

Actually, as far as I'm concerned the transfer season could be closed now, with Rui Costa our top purchase. The defense still makes me nervous, which makes me wonder why we always buy so heavily at the striker and midfield positions. Instead of Pirlo we needed a defender b/c for 2 seasons the fans have been whining about our defense being our weakest area. We're only fans, right, what do we know? And let's not forget the Inzaghi purchase was against the coach's wishes, maybe some tug of war ot battle of wills. Our management sometimes makes me wonder...I'm still shaking my head at our apparent walking away from Rui Costa and then suddenly, he's ours. My roomie has a theory that he was ours all along and everything else was a smoke screen simply b/c we needed to throw off everyone else. We'll never know...

I have the same feeling with you all guys!!
We have been entertained by Mr Berlusconi with his supershocking buying in transfer market.
With that, we become to have great hope for winning scudetto.

For me, according to this camp. I can't wait for hearing the infos about our players' current healthyness and fitness.
It would be greater for us to know that all of the squad are ready to "war"!! :D

Pirlo was bought because Galliani didn't think we'd ever get Rui. Now we did, somehow, and Pirlo's extra. That's my take on it.

I think we shold trade Pirlo for a quality defender and our team would be huge. Or simply keep Coloccini in the squad and don't do anything. I don't expect anymore major deals. You can only do one or two every couple of seasons, but I think we should be looking for extra defensive depth. Especially if Coloccini goes to Spain.

If we are planning to use a tactical scheme with a attacking midfielder behind the strikers (like in a 4-3-1-2), being Rui Costa, it would be very stupid to sell Pirlo cause we would have no single cover up...

True, if Costa gets hurt then we have no back up for him, although I think somebody like Donati could provide some help in that area. The team would lose some firepower, but would survive, I think.

I think if we loose rui for 2 months or so (god save us from this) we would be in major trouble... we cant let a key area of our system just been uncovered or just covered by someone who is usually playing in a different position...

I agree completely. I just hate to see us talking of loaning Coloccini when that area is potentially weak and we have a surplus of midfielders. I know Pirlo is an essential backup. Maybe Milan is looking to make another deal of defense.

Well, I doubt that we will loan coloccini if we dont get another defender.... maybe bonera... though still, I would keep Coloccini and maybe during the season decide if we loan one of the youngsters again to an other club if they dont get enough playing time and/or have proven to be talented, but not ready for Serie A yet.
That would be the solution I would prefer

Well i think Luccin and Bonera would perfectly complete the transfer season. we would have depth and most importantly we could rotate!!!

Pirlo musn't be sold he is our Rui understudy if we loes him in 2-3 years galliani will ***** about having to fork out cash. Pirlo learning fro Rui can step in 2 years time and take over.

I remember the moment it was announced that parma got rui and toldo. it was hillarious cause right away i found 10 articels saying rui and toldo dont wanna go there and amo and alll the parma fans were so pissed of at me. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA :D :D

I'm remembering too the Parma fans carrying on that it was official--I don't know exactly where it was official, I know things I looked at said "close" or "possible." Egg on their faces....which is one reason I never say anything is "official" until I'm sure about it.

BTW, guys...it's been a week....I've heard or seennothing else...I think Rui Costa really, actually, truly IS ours! heheheh;) just kidding...

Amo got so pissed off he started swaering at me
