i give up on england, hope for the best, but expect the worse, sex organ erection's had this team for 5 years yet they play like strangers and individuals, no mould of a team. Like Liverpool in the final year of houllier, relying on Gerrard and Hamann, with a few Owen goals when he was fit and on form.

I've thought that a lot...same uneasy feeling cos you know whats wrong but apparently the manager doesn't and is going on like there is nothing wrong. Houllier made it painful to watch Liverpool for a couple of years and Sven is the same with England.

It makes you appreciate what a competent manager Rafa is...I've got total respect for his knowledge of the game. Rafa would thrive in a world cup situation...bet he's watching every game with a notepad and pen in hand. :nerd:

Spain did it again, great match and a test of the teams resolve, they came through with flying colours. Apparently Xabi had a bad match according to some, even though he made 101 passes in the match ;), some of the stupidity some an come out with :D.

Anyway this world cup has been great, full of attacking football, nice goals and nice football, only england have dissappointed me :depress:

Harry Kewell had a good match versus brazil and even forced them to man mark him, a marker of the respect he earned off the brazilians ;) But he missed a gilt edge chance which would have turned the game, still however i thoguht Australia were unlucky and gave as good as they got.

The African teams have really played nice stuff and won a place in my heart.

the italians suprised me against the states who did well and Argentina look the team to beat, arguably the greatest world cup goal ever

Brazil i feel are getting started and will get stronger, though they can be beaten. ;)

xabi had a bad match ,well not being funny what was going on with spains left hand side in the first half? loads of space

thought xabi did well to be honest ,makes himself avaliable ,loads and loads of passing reaching its target ,his passing completion must be very high.

obviously some gimps looking to blame someone but if they want to blame xabi they have the wrong man.

spains left side was terrible, anyone can tell, it is because of PErnia, this guy is terrible, he makes Josemi look like Maldini, he was at fualt for the goal and everythin came down his side and he goes hiding and is caught out. Personally i think this is where spain will get caught out against the better nations :scared:

yeah I was going to say I think the guy is shite but I have only seen that pernia is it twice now for spain ,another one who didn't do as well was senna I thought ,even villa as well.

From what I've heard..

Xabi got the MoM in the game against Tunisia.. some have been saying that it's the perfect example for passing and ball distribution..

Ivory Coast have been the impressive yet unlucky side.. the Argies performance against S&M was superb..

Players of the tournament till now.. Saviola, Robben (he's been sort of a one man show!), Klose (4 goals), The ghanian #3 who's their striker and does everything BUT score :D and maybe Kaka'.. he's been the only impressive part of Brazil's 1st team.. Robinho has done well when called upon..

to be honest I did feel twinge of sympathy I can't help feeling he was played too much as a youngster he gets terrible injuries and will do for the rest of his career.

The only thing he has ever cared about is england so if he's out of the world cup I would advise his nearest and dearest to put away any sharp objects.

On a very selfish point the Owen injury may mean Newcastle cannot compete for Kuyt as they now have to bring in two strikers. Newcastle may have had the cash to scupper any deal with Kuyt...this might change things.

going to newcastle would not be a step up for kuyt ,if he's daft enough to there then its own problem.

He's already been quoted as saying he'd be happy to go there....if the Geordies put in a higher bid then Feyernoord will obviously accept. Still think we're clear favourite as we have the 10 mill and CL football.

Btw Kuyt should start against the Argies today.

I feel for Owen and I feel for Newcastle too, oh man and if, if somehow England wins the WC, that will be the worst what can happen to him :sigh:.
He can commiserate with Jimmy Greaves.

Whats more ludicrous...Djimi Traore, CL Winner or Peter Crouch, World Cup Winner? Rafa really is a genius if that happens.

rafa has the midas touch ,liverpool not buying owen has been proven in hindsight to be a great decision ,owen not fit the season just gone and next season is ****ed up as well. Saved 17 million ,its as brutal as that.
