I'm not going to get on about this again, but the ref was horrible and that's a fact that most experts agree on, so you guys just go on and blabber about it hehehe. I'm over it, but I smell an investigation on this. :D

They don't know the rules. You have people saying Nesta's handball was a penalty or that Beasley's goal should count for god's sake!
Well, Thanassis, considering the reactions of Arena and Keller (to give two examples) right after the match that pretended (esp. Keller) to have been literally screwed by the ref's decision, it's no suprise I think that there are people with similiar trouble in understanding the rules of the game.

Well, the coach and the players are excused in the heat of the game in my opinion. But for a football fan who sits comfortably at home and can look at the replays for a million times... pathetic.

You have to not know the rules to think that this referee was bad.

Just tell us how many fouls Italy got due to their players diving and acting? :D At one point I remember seeing 20 fouls for Italy only 5 for USA, and don't say that USA fouled more... BS Toni dived each time the ball got near him and the ref automatically whistled for a foul.

That's true. But that happens in practically every game I've ever wachted Toni play in, he's a great actor it seems.

No one would disagree with you on that, that Toni dived quite often(funny that this is the only specific case you brought up, while complaining about the ref, go ahead and bring up the rest of the decisions you disagreed with ;)).

Even though its despicable to dive, its funny that Iaquinta didnt get a clear pk just because he didnt dive. Its a sad fact that referees tend to not notice or ignore fouls where the players stand on their feets.

Werent you the one who said this wasnt a yellow card even? Eddie Pope was lucky enough to not be get carded earlier in the first half(very clumbsy and late and his challenges too often, very poor game of him), questionning this as yellow its quite funny. What did those experts say about this one? ;) (wont bring up the Mastroeni one because questionning that is like pleading for to not to be taken seriously, and being void of any know-how in football matters).

I dont know which match, and which point in the match you were watching when you saw those fouls.

So is it a crime to say that the Mastroeni one should have been a yellow?

It just shows the USA's defensive immaturity at this level, nothing more.
Yeah, defensive immaturity, all right. At least we were trying to play the ball and play a competitive game. By the way, what do you think of De Rossi? Is that not defensive immaturity? Stop being so damn critical of everyone else.

Ohh yeah, one more question. What is the level of Singapore's defensive maturity? Just curious.

Ah, I see.

It seems you're suffering from the "I'm right and you don't know what you're talking about" syndrome. Well, it afflicts a lot of people, so I think that with a few therapy sessions, a bath and a change of citizenship should do the trick.
Hehe, what have I been saying all these years? :) Spot on with your assessment.

Look at it again, and tell me what part of this foul shouldn't be a straight red. Its ridicolous to even hint that it isnt red, its hard to take one seriously if you question this very very dangerous tackle.

those kind of tackles arent tolerated in football, rightfully so. I really urge people to read more about football rules.

There were some clueless ones questionning this call because he touched the ball, or his intent wasnt to hurt him. Like it has anything to do with it at all. Just like saying The Beasley goal should have stop, when Mcbride(who was awful, one of the few US players who werent good) not only inteferred in it, but also participiated in it with his position.

I repeat, if you question these kind of clear cut decisions, you are begging for not to be taking seriously at all. You have a right to your opinion ofcourse. But its not a valid one when the football rules specifically states the opposite to what you are arguing. A very very late and dangerous two feet tackle are straight red in the football book. Just as the offside call was. You may disagree with for whatever reason, but in one way are you right, or should be taking seriously, for questionning those calls.

Look guys I think it is a moot point. Osman, great video. First time I saw it on tape, and perhaps that should have gotten a red.

However, a good referee would have warned Pope at the start of the second half instead of busting out a yellow 2 minutes in.

The time of when he gets warned doesn't matter, wether or not the foul does is all that matters. And Pope's both cards were very very valid cards. He was very clumbsy in both.
