Yeah duh,it was sarcastic.A disgracul challenge. And I thought Italy would know better, especially de Rossi, who is a "talent' ,atleast thats what Italian media are saying.Maybe he has talent, but talent in kickbocksing.
What do you expect he plays for Roma :howler:

Del Piero could not have reached the ball if he didn't try to volley, in the end he got the chance by actually making the run, something Iaquinta didn't even try. It's amazing how blinkered some people are.

DP came on and indeed tried to do things, he didn't take on enough defenders in my view, but he was trying to making things happen with intelligent passes and he was the one at the heart of most of Italy's goal opportunities when he came on.
quoted for truth ;)

i cant understand why a talented squad like italy's lacks any sparkle or soul...since italia 90 in fact no italian team got the neutral excited,,,94 efficency ending in misery, 96 a joke, 98 a few narrow wins from vieri then penalties, euro2000 was the epitome of catenaccio...etc and its not a question of coaches because it doesnt get better than lippi...i think it is just in their DNA not to pay attention to please the eye and win hearts...

a ghana win and a sucker punch from nedved or baros and they go home, not much changes since 2004....i mean sending gattuso on for totti when its 10 vs 10 and with 60 mints to go!! against USA! looked too much for me...

When Pirlo seems really fast compared to the rest of his teammates something is seriously wrong. Too many players who either couldn't or didn't bother to run, too many dives by the strikers, too many wrong passes, too many mistakes made by Lippi. Why no Inzaghi? Why is Zaccardo such a favourite of the coach? Why only Pirlo, Canna, Nesta and Gattuso seemed to care about the result?
It's gonna be such a thrilling affair in the last games that I am probably going to buy some tranquillisers just in case. :)

LUCIANO MOGGI WAS SURELY IN THE REFEREES ROOM AT HALF TIME :smileani:
;) Malcolm Glazer was probably also :pp

Good performance by the ref, I thought. Americans really whould be blaming their own players for their stupidity, rather than the ref. Italy was there for the taking until the two brain farts from Team USA. Still, I'm more disappointed with Italy. I actually thought they had a decent chance of winning the whole thing. I don't anymore.

And De Rossi is such a dirty whore. Shouldn't be allowed to play again in this WC.

Why all the complaints against the red cards? This was easily the most violent game in the WC so far. Mastroeni clearly deserved the red for the infantile and needless foul he made on Pirlo. De Rossi's elbow to McBride's face? Red, no doubt. A sliding tackle from behind like Pope's also fully merits at LEAST a yellow. Was the ref supposed to let the thugs run wild, or what?

Nah ref was good except for offsides given agaisnt Italy :pp

Deserved draw.I hope the USA will make it,but if you looked how Ghana played today........But I loved how the USA used their fighting spirit.Thats the way we like too see the underdog.Underdog?I dont think so,the first half was for the USA,but thanks to the referee too men got send off, even tough it was deserved.Even in the second half they kept on fighting, and they actually had the best chances to win the game. The USA are the moral winners, thats for sure.

USA:thumbsup:
Italy:yuck:
i agree, there were many counter attacks and lots of space, johnson is quick and would have been way better than beasley who got scared of taking a lead role and kept disposing the ball as quick as possible. arena should have bought johnson on.

This is just the ultimate proof that USA became a very respectable team, and that Italy will never learn. So much talent, and such a bad display from tournament to tournament.
Yeah indeed, some regard the USA as minnows, but they arent anymore.Yeah in 1990 they were, but now with new trainings, more talent is developed.Only it isnt a popular sport ,but it is increasing. And most of their players play in big leagues in Europe,so what do you expect,a walkover by Italy........I dont think so:rollani:

all ref decisions were correct, so get over it,,an elbow and two ankle targeting tackles r not controversial....

Pope's red card was well deserved. He was pushing and pulliung the whole game.

If Mastro made the tackle, then the same people including you would be hailing it as a great defensive breakup. Tackles like that happen all the time, in the intended manner...he just missed, that's a yellow card.

LMAO De Rossi is like "What have I done?" :pp
