zono i watched vranjes play a few games for bremen this year and he was awful..he should not even be on our national team..i have no reason why hes there it can be based on club performance..to me hes a waste of a player..

yeah, let's see him, i cannot judge without watching him, i know he is solid defensivly from further playings,
so as i said he is only a defensive option,
it's not that he has to be a regular player, or better is not that he will enter any game during our campain in this WC :smileani:

he is an offensive midfielder, wich was adapted to play central midfielder (i dunno english word for it, italian is "mediano" ), i support this idea of Cico of using him in a position very similar to Boban's position in our NT

Its just not right for you to say he is soft in one on ones because he has proved at every oppurtunity that he is not. You are saying that because he is small, just like Kranjcar is strong because he is big but he is not strong because he doesnt play that way.

Why does "OUR GREAT COACH" play Modric consistently as a "def mid" than. Why has he not received one minute playing in his natural "off mid" role?? Surely our coach must see he has all these limitations defensively and is better suited for an offensive mid, no???

I know you dont understand. It means we BEAT one of the BEST TEAMS IN THE WORLD with a central mid and not two def mids,and without OUR TWO BEST DEFENDERS!!! If someone told you we beat Arg without Kovac, Simunic, and with Modric(1st cap) as a central mid, do you believe them????

Our defense isnt good because of jsut N Kovac or Joe Simunic. Its good because we have Tudor, Simic, Kovac, Simunic, Srna, Babic etc playing as a team....zone defending, chasing............

Kranjcar played much better than Modric against Austria. Was mobile, wanted the ball, switched sides, accurate passing a and a few bits of magic. Good crosses too from corners.

He deserves a 6.5 for that game. One of the better players, even a neutral aussie mate of mine kept asking who no. 19 was and that he's good.

ero u are off on your point..kranjcar really did nothing in the 1st half..the 1st half was all about prso babic and klasnic..the second half niko k. was alot better ill give u that..to say he outplayed modric is not fair because modric only played 30 minutes..funny though how niko played better when modric was in..cico should give modric and kranjcar a full game together then make yur assesment on who played better..

Actually they got a full game together against Arg and Modric outshined him in a new position, first cap, and against a world powerhouse. What Modric really needs is to get a full game in as an offensive mid to see what he could do playing behind Prso and Klasnic.

Modric was better vs Argentina, but Kranjcar was better even for those 30 minutes.

30 minutes is enought o give an ocjena, it's a 6 for modric, a 6.5 for Kranjcar. This game.
