Liverpool have recently started to regain momentum since with a positive wins and performance which yielded some much needed goals , the momentum needs to be continued on a permanent basis, the following fixture can really shape our season, so we need to build momentum and continuing winning. Playing at Cardiff in the final we need to be tough and take the iniative from the start, play high tempo and deadly infront of goal, step forward Steven Gerrard
Image
, he has returned from injury and now is needed now more than ever. We need to cut out mistakes stop conceding goals and build up on a winning run again, as we are entering a tough glut of fixtures which can swing our season. We also need to keep close in our battle for progress in the Cup aswell as bragging rights, beating our opponents will announce ourselves and be a MASSIVE win both in terms of the league for next season and the momentum we can reap. The final pass and finishing needs to be worked on as well as the creative part of our game, no doubt Rafa will have spotted it and will work on this, hopefully it pays dividends on the pitch

  • [*]Rafa has stated now that he has a fully fit-esque squad for a sustained period in his Anfield tenure, though Bolo is out for the season, hard luck as he was finding form. Garcia will be missed, his goal presence and movement is really important for a Liverpool team who has strikers who contribute very little at this current moment

    .

  • [*]
The strikers are unpredicatable as always
    Image
, Morientes has lost his feet and seems to become less effective game by game. When Crouch plays we focus on long balls
    Image
and the game goes by Moro, who is less effective as he cannot link play. Cisse is the unpredictable one, he can do some awesome things then miss a one on one sitter, but his pace and his enthusiasm and the fact he's the most dangerous striker suggest he should play. Fowler
is our hope for goals, plus his fitness is starting to get better and Rafa has stated he sees Fowler as an impact player off the bench and possibly as a starter. Fowler's impact in the fulham goal was massive, his goal and his contribution in the play using his intelligent play was a key part of our winning performance, this is an ideal situation fixture for our other strikers to rise to the occasion and start to score more goals and continue our momentum

The importance of a win are high, this is for the sake of momentum and continuing our challenge and pursuit and capping of our season of improvement with a respectable trophy, hopefully we rise to the challenge, plus considering the league is taking a rigid shape for the future and we want to try to do our best to improve and also gain momentum a win would allow for us to keep gain progress in the cup and beat our rivals, we had momentum and I'd love for us to sustain that again. If we win we can win win the FA Cup, our first major domstic trphy under Rafa

this would atleast show we're competing again.

  • [*]
A key part of us winning this match will be the defence, we have twenty clean sheets in EPL a greater tally than what we had in EPL all last season, we should try and build upon that though we've started to make mistakes, if we cut out the defensive mistakes we can build on that as a foundation and go for the win.

  • [*]We havent had a 5 game+ winning run in EPL for a long time prior to this season
    Image

I can't remember when we went on a major winning run last (2003?), but hopefully this can be a foundation and we can win and build momentum and go up the league.

  • [*]We can win this match, though it will be tough, we'll need to be at our best. Being intense and strong from the start being up for the fight and winning every 50-50, this will allow for us to gain a foothold in the game. We need to play at a high tempo and really attack, the supporters can make there voices be heard in the away end, the crowd can also push us on and give us the extra gear to push that extra bit more. Then we need to take our chances, because they will not be at a premium, we need to be solid and cut out defensive mistakes and take our chances when they come, then hopefully we'd win. Though this is a statement of the obvious. :D

Biigest match of the season, will be tough as they'll be motivated, we'll need to be at our game best. Keep the ball well, take our chances and use our width. Keeping the ball is vital, we need to win midfield, the dirty tackling and power aswell as the distributing. If we do play at our best we'll win.

ALONSO EASES INJURY CONCERNS
Mark Platt 08 May 2006
Xabi Alonso today eased fears that he could miss Saturday's FA Cup Final by revealing he's optimistic about his chances of lining up against West Ham in the Millennium Stadium.
Alonso was stretchered off during the first half of Liverpool's 3-1 win at Portsmouth yesterday after falling awkwardly and left Fratton Park sporting a protective ankle cast.

The prospect of him playing in his first FA Cup Final were immediately shrouded in doubt and a scan this morning showed he has suffered an ankle ligament sprain.

But the Spanish midfielder has reassured worried Liverpool fans that he's confident of recovering in time for the final.

"When it happened I was very worried but now I feel more optimistic. I'm feeling very positive about my chances of being fit for Saturday," says Alonso.

The obvious disappointment of missing out on runners-up spot in the Premiership and the injury he sustained aside, Alonso admits it's been a good second season at Anfield and is confident it can get even better.

"We can be happy because we've improved a lot and we're a much more solid team. But we don't want to stop now, we want to keep progressing," he adds.

"Whatever happens next week it's been a good season, but it could still have been even better. We wanted to win the World Club Champion-ship and go further in the Champions League. But we still have the FA Cup final to look forward to, and obviously we're all determined to win it."

anyay i love the millenium, absolutely brilliant stadium. one of my favourites, if we ever make Anfield mark 2 then I'd love for it to be like that with a roof and atmosphere of that knd, would be great, especially for a modern stadium to be like that.

I worked the other day at a restaurent but they wanted me to wash the bastard pots, you know the right big greasy ones what can't go in the dishwasher so I quit. I just took 100 quid out my poker account, that should tie me over for a week.

yeah the bastards make you wash the pots, i still don't understand, in my old man's resturant the workers had to use bloody cold water to get all the stuff off, really hard and ****s your hands up, not a long term job.
