Hot on the heels of Barcelona's $33million bid for Lazio's Juan Veron, Inter have upped their interest in the Argentine creative hub with director Oriali planning a deal to take to the champions early next week.

Oriali will offer $23million plus Clarence Seedorf but as the Dutchman is no real replacement, the nerazzurri will have to improve their offer and compete directly with the bidding from Spain.

Inter always seem to be the first club linked with the big names but recently, their raiding has been unsuccessful. The plans to bring Sol Campbell over from Spurs seem to have blown out and it's unlikely Veron will move to a club that is always in transition and can only offer UEFA Cup football next season.

barca have already signed riquelme...they already have rivaldo...and now they are looking for veron..??what kinda midfield they want?

they want the best midfield in the world! barca is determined to win the primeira liga next year, and they are making the moves to do it.

veron would not be stupid enough to come to inter. there is no way he would move to a team that is not in the champions league and appears to have no chance to win its home title. who would come to inter? a player in veron's class will only sign for top-quality, balanced teams like man utd, bayern, real madrid, maybe barca, etc. inter? no way.

barca, just like inter, have not played well this season... they gonna miss CL...their chairman is as stupid as moratti...they bought overmars, gerard, petit, and others... but no improvement, no trophies this season...they are so desperate to 'buy' some success...veron, campbell, toldo might be on their way to nou camp...but they have already signed like 5, 6 players...

Falcao...must be really getting a hard on over Barca's off season. Sounds as if Barca have put together a good off season and with these kinda structured buys and so early it means they are organized for next season.

Toldo....Christanval.....Saviola......Riquelme

Now that is the way to begin your season....No big revolution just a quality player in every position...simple.

Not bad.....With Toldo also at Barca alongside one of my other favouriteplayers in Filip Cocui must say i will find it hard to laugh at Barca's losses at Nou Camp.

Its hilarious......NIKE must be PI$$ED as hell......Both INTER and Barca outa the CHampions league.

They only got Arsenal and Dortmund and maybe Valencia......ha.....poor kiddies. PSV aint gonna be the same without van Nistlerooij and Rangers aint SH!T.

NIKE IS GONNA START SHEDDING SOME BLOOD if Barca and INTER don't get their acts together. No wonder Barca have got so big with their agressive signings all of a sudden....But buying is not the solution to long term problems. Ever since all the Catalns started leaving Barca have slowly gone down hill.....Nuthin to do with quci fix problems

Anyway Saviola should hit about 15 in his first season and from then on it should be all 20+ seasons for him. Just hope he and Riquelme can get on with each other. BUt Toldo for me is such a nancy boy......I mean a real "NICE" guy. He probably needs a freind or two with him in Barca. I dunno......who are Toldo's freinds? I know he was freinds with Padalino and Falcone but they are not Barca quality.....who are his freinds? He needs company or he might crumble.....and he is definately not accustomed to goal keeping behind Barca's swiss cheese defence.

FORZA....Meewan

Barca v Madrid is the show to catch next season, ladies and gentlemen.

Of-course,with the way the rumor mills work these days,I won't believe them unless I see them in a Barca jersey.I hope I dont.

And Veron will NEVER come to inter, that much is sure.

i got a feeling that if barca get veron, they'll sell rivaldo...they have riquelme running the offense...(but how come they have only bought 50% of him?)...riquelme is younger...so they gotta sell rivaldo when he is still in his prime...if not, his value will drop when he's over his prime..saviola, i agree that's a good purchase...christanval is also good...toldo is a superb keeper...he is better than reina...but don't know much about that giovanni guy..and another brazilian striker...campbell would also be good for them since their defense is so bad...they probably need to reload zenden... they never play him...

real vs. barca...a dream matchup next season...

tazz, yeah, i'm happy with barca's moves, because it's nice to see such a quality lineup. but it could end in chaos. barca could be turning itself in to the inter of spain -- all the most expensive players, 2 or 3 coaches per season, no trophies. just like inter.

i just keep wondering why we can't be like liverpool or man utd or real madrid. we have the money. why can't we just buy all the best players one year AND KEEP THEM TOGETHER FOR 3 OR 4 YEARS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS? look at what liverpool has done. look at the great young players who came up with that team. look at how long the core players have been at man utd and real madrid. raul, giggs, beckham, hierro, etc. when you think about them, you think about the shirt they wear. but when you think about inter's players, you think, "i wonder what shirt he'll be wearing next year. who will we get to replace him?"

man, inter is a pack of rubbish. (and we've got a thread about the uefa cup final in here. what a joke. a few short months ago, we were struggling to stay out of the relegation zone.)

any superstar with sense would avoid inter right now.

but teams like man utd, liverpool, leeds, and arsenal not only buy star players...they also have players from their youth team...look at beckham, scholes, giggs, nevillie brothers at Man utd...look at gerrard, owen, fowler, carragher at liverpool...also, leeds are the perfect example...but who do we have? ferrari...but where are the others? ventola and pirlo are on loan...i think inter should play their young players more...success doesn't mean throwing money and buying superstars...u also need young players who love inter very much...

that's exactly my question...i understand that barca want to have the best midfield in the world...but how would rivaldo feel happy when both riquelme and veron come? i mean 3 attacking midfielders...so i don't think they'll have 3...if they sign veron, i think rivaldo gotta go..

rivaldo is leaving with or without veron...question is where

I don't believe in the Veron rumours. It just seems too unrealistic with Romy and Rivaldo allready in for next season. You're all dizzing Inter, and I also believe that they've played like **** this season, and alot of seasons before :D, but I believe in them. I'm sure they'll do really well in next years UEFA cup, and I believe in a top three finish. All because of Cuper .

yup i dont agree with this rumor either, veron is just a player that is too high too reach.

Inter's situation is, the buy the great players, but we suck for 1 or two seasons, and the stars want out, they dont have the patience to stay and help the club to reach victory.

Just look at the end of this season, how frey, recoba, vieri, and all those players that want OUT, this downside is caused by their "worldclass" title.

I really hope those players you mention and the others aswell, will stay now that Cuper is comming. They really should, as I can see alot of unused potential in this team :).

It don´t matter how good Veron is because I don´t want him anyway. We have enough of arrogant players and Veron is one of the best in that subject. His mood aren´t exactly the best :D

And I don´t want that we buy some bigshot this summer because we already have big players in our team. Now we need to combine them with some youngsters or players that works hard for the team.Veron ain´t the answer because we don´t need him either. Our playmaker is Pirlo next season and if not him,it will be Dalmat.I prefer both of these players over Veron because evevn though Veron is right now better,Pirlo and Dalmat are younger and we don´t have to buy them.We already own them so why spoil big money on a player we really don´t need?

I'm also a big fan of Pirlo, and I can't see why Inter should buy someone like Veron for alot of money, when we have such a big Italian talent.
FORZA PIRLO!!
