At the moment it's a tight race between the swedish league and the danish league.

It's not that easy Numerodix. :D

Take for instance Brøndby and FCK. Brøndby won the Danish championship with 12 points to FCK. FCK won the Royal League, and Brøndby didn't even make it from the first group phase. Is FCK then better than the Danish Champions?
Simple answer: a resounding YES!!!

what makes you say that? I think there is little between the big three. Sweden should teoretically be the biggest due to the difference between out countries, but we are not. If anything I think we have the most even table with the most teams able to win it which can be seen on how many teams that won it since the dominance of IFK Gothenburg. Not to forget that it doesn't looke like any team will dominate this year either.

The Finnish teams are also equal with the mid-table sides in the other Scandi leagues but the top teams like VIF, RBK, FCK, Bröndby are a step above the rest. HJK Helsinki can compete with most of the Scandi teams and have shown that by playing in the 1998 Champions League first group stage.

After having moved to bottom table AGF, Finnish Tuomas Aho said that ther was a big difference/step up in quality of players and in pace and quality at training at AGF and in the Danish league in compare with what he had been used to at MyPa in Finland. He also said that it would take some time for him to adjust to the higher pace... He's btw still not quite good enough to be a regular at AGF...

So FCK is better than the team that beat them not only by an enormous margin in the table, but also 5-0 in what showed to be the championship decider?

Well, I give a **** - we're the Champions (and Cup Winners as well btw)! :finger: ;)

Obviously not, for both clubs things go up and down, but overall Brøndby and FCK are quite equal in quality in the long run.

The Royal League helped prove how equal the three Scandinavian leagues are. Norway had three teams in the playoff, Sweden had two, and Denmark had one. Yet the final was between a Swedish and Danish team, and the Danish team won. Personally I thought VIF was the best team in the tournament, but they had some bad luck against a clever IFK (red card etc), and Brann was also close to their best in the home match against VIF, when if I remember correctly VIF "stole" a point. In the Champions League third qualifying round all three leagues are represented. Norway with two teams, Sweden with one, and Denmark with one. All still can make it into the Champions League, although MFF's result was the least impressive one yesterday.

I dont quite agree, It's true that Malmø's result looks the least impressive on paper, but actually Thun were lucky not to lose with 2-3 goals, since Malmø had two one-on-ones with the keeper, a shot hitting the woodwork and one cleared right on the goal-line... also Brøndby should have won if you look at play and chances. The least impressive performance yesterday was surely Rosenborg, despite them getting the best result..

You say you don't agree, but I said: "MFF's result was the least impressive". I didn't mention their performance. You conclude that Rosenborg got the best result, you don't mention Brøndby, but you probably think they got a better result than MFF as well.

VIF should have won 2-0 against Brugge, and Rosenborg should have lost against Steaua, but in the end it's the result that counts. I'm happy that MFF, VIF and BIF performed well though.

In Tippeligaen AaFK have dominated most of our home matches, but have still lost several of those, a few in the dying minutes of the match. A major reason is that we need a top striker that can fight for the topscorer title. Because we can't finish off the matches we let the opponents back into the matches, and because of this we will struggle to even keep our place in the league.

Start are top of the league, and they deserve it, because they have played great football. But the great football isn't all that's special about Start, a major reason for them being on top, is that they have finished off several matches in the final minutes. Again it's all about the final result.

I did actually mention Brøndby ;) ... They should also have won at home against Ajax when you look at play and chances, but I do not like to rate Danish teams before they have played their away games since, belive it or not, Danish teams usually get most of their best EC results in away games... Just look at FCK, Brøndby and AaB last season doing fairly well away but looking stupid at home... This season, Esbjerg losing 1-2 to Flora Tallinn at home then to beat them 6-0 away in the 2nd leg... and now also looking stupid against Tromsø at home... and so I could go on, though Brøndby actually managed to win both home and away against Dinamo Tbilisi in the 2nd CLQ round this season ...

Malmö played really good in some periods, but I suspect that the flu that forced them to only have junior players on the bench affected some of the players playing too since they looked really tired late on. They could very well win the next game, but need a real goalscorer to play with Afonso.

Hi, is there any club in Gotlands län and Åland?

And is there any Svenska club based on ethnic minorities?
Not in higher divisions. But Visby Gute from Gotland plays in div 2 or 3 I think. Assyriska, a foreign club plays in the highest division Allsvenskan, but they will get relegated. They are a team of Ethnic Assyrians. There are also several others foreign teams like Syrianska, Balkan and Turkiska in lower divisions. Syrianska plays in Div 2.
