Blaise N'Kufo :star:

He is really picking up form again isn't he? This guy is so strong, but still good with the ball. I am sure he can perform at a higher level as well, but I am happy to have him in the Eredivisie still. :)

Consistancy is what he needs now imo. but maybe now with 2 better wingers, he'll get better supply especialy from Gakhodize but indeed when in form, he's a player met een eigen actie too!

Wish we got him instead of the overweight Ali B who's excelled lately only in falling over :groan:

N'Kufo is head and shoulders the best player at FC Twente, if Saturday's match is anything to go with.
If he keeps this up, he can only be ignored so much longer by one of the top 4. On the other hand, None of the top 4 really need another striker at the moment(well, maybe Feyenoord :D), and I can't really imagine any of them buying N'Kufo over the summer either. Sadly.

I don't agree with you on 'Fat Ali'. I think he is growing as a player. During last weeks Amstel Cup game against Utrecht, I think he was doing quite some good stuff out there. Plus he might look overweight, but he is still kinda fast. You can compare him to Ailton who also looks fat, but is not and is very fast.

I hope you're right

I'm still yet to be convinced he'll be good enough for a club that is vying to be top 3 material but he is improving. I must admit that.

btw not Ailton, Ali doesn't score enough. Make it Rooney :shades: :D

More based on goals scored, cause I haven't seen much of him. Although I just saw two goals of him of the hattrick he scored today. Who am I talking about? Rahamat Mustapha from Sparta. A talent long way back when he was still at Vitesse, but even in a loanspell at RBC it never came out. Very inefficient. He was bound to sign for a Excelsior last season, but after Sparta came he ended up decided to go for him. Finally played a full season, but still not that spectacular, but this season. Especially the last two games, with two hattrick made him jump in the topscorerschart to second place with 16 goals. A hattrick behind his teammate Vd Bergh and and a hattrick ahead of his other teammate Koevermans.

I do seems vaguely to remember him. Maybe I'm mistaking him with another player, but wasn't he that right-winger (or right-attacker) that played for Vitesse a few seasons ago? I remember him being very strong and lightning-fast (probably the fastest player in the eredivisie). I thought he had quite some potential back than only his ball-control was sometimes very poor.

yeah he's a bit like Darl Douglas , a messy winger, only worse I guess.

MY vote for player of the week however goes to Theo Zwarthoed! :star:

Erik Nevland - been scoring a lot lately for Groningen helping them to much better results since the autmn and I been noticing he's been doing well mainly cos of my fantasy football team :D

but what do you reckon? is this just a good start and he'll fall back or do you reckon he'll continue to bang it in? dunno myself

Well he has a very impressive scoring record for someone who plays for a relatively small team and who joined in the middle of the season. How many goals does he have? 8 or so? I think he'll keep it up because it is obvious he has quality, otherwise he would never have played at a top team like Man Utd. He's better than Drent anyway. ;)

If he had just scored once last night I would have rated him higher, now I still have to see. I think he might be do well this season, but then just score an average amount next season.

Maybe already mentioned, but Michael Janssen of Vitesse will have a great future.

He has reportedly caught the eye of Ajax

Anyway, my two additions both come from AZ:

Tarek Sektioui: Sektiou-wie? Yes yes, you may think I've gone mad again, but I think this guy is getting more and more on form at AZ, since he has a regular starting spot. He is one of the most technical players in the league and he has a good action/passeerbeweging. He is a bit egocentric sometimes and that is in fact a problem, but apart from that I think he is a very good player indeed.

Kew Jaliens: Did AZ really miss Mathijssen during his absence? Jaliens stepped up and played solid games. He is big, strong and fast and he is quite concentrated as a man marker. Decent player, not top-material (yet?) but a good one for a team like AZ.

I think they at their top now if you look at the club and both a bit lucky of course that Van Geel and Co knew them from their time in Tilburg and that both were transferfree.

Mr. Scissors has had his good spells too at Willem II, but sometimes he's too flashy in my eyes and not that direct in his play.

Jaliens is a good backup for the defense, but still when everyone is healthy he's not solid enough to start in my eyes.

Jaliens just doesn't look like a player to me that even Adriaanse can make better. He's decent for the Dutch league but not much more than that. I don't see him climbing higher up than AZ.
But AZ is now a Dutch top club right?

Samaras, always been a favourite of me. Somehow always does better as a sub than as starter, but at the moment he's simply in much better shape than Huntelaar, who wasn't scored for Heerenveen for a while. Together with the poor form of Yildirim that was also one of the reasons that Heerenveen has looked so shakky after the winterbreak. Only now you have Samaras in good form, he was decisive last night in Arnhem and Yildirim also back in better form, so they might still edge at least Vitesse out at the end.

I agree on Jaliens with Prince, he really has done well as stand in for Mathijsen also in some tough matches. I think Jaliens is more than good back up or squad depth, I think you can put him in AZ first team without any worries, he could be a starter for AZ as well. Sektioui I`m not much of a fan of.

Strangely enough i haven`t seen any recent players worth mentioning.
I`m a bit disappointed in Huntelaar and Yildirim though, they are showing both that they are not yet consistent top players.
