Home sweet Home. :smileani:
Real Madrid return to action in the Bernabeu for the first time in almost four weeks since the Winter break, taking on mid-table Real Zaragoza. The last time we walked off the Bernabeu pitch against Sevilla our title hopes were all but shattered and up in smoke, yet we take to the field on Sunday with new found hope and inspiration that we can claim back the championship.
Raúl suffered a slight muscle strain in training during the week and is doubtful for this match, with Guti also struggling to shake off a bout of flu/stomach bug. Michel Salgado is available again after serving a one-match suspension. New signing Thomas Gravesen flies into Madrid this afternoon, the 28 year old will arrive in the Spanish capital to ink a 3-year deal after his £2.1million switch from Everton FC, subject to a medical. I am not sure if the deal was completed in time for him to feature on Sunday.
Real Madrid XI (probable):
--------------Casillas---------------
Salgado-Helguera-Samuel-Carlos-
--Figo-Beckham-Solari-Zidane----
-----------Raúl-Ronaldo------------
(Insert Gravesen into the middle with Zidane and switch Figo to the left, with Beckham on the right if indeed Gravesen is allowed to play)
Real Zaragoza XI (probable):
------------Luis García------------
Álvaro-Aranzábal-Jimenez-Zapater
Cani-Movilla-Ponzio-Savio-------
-----Óscar González-Villa--------

Predictions?
What do you guys think? Anything less than three points is totally unacceptable for a team chasing the lead at the top of the table, and I don't see a slip-up here. In fact, I see a healthy home win. Maybe 4-0. I think Ronaldo will continue his good form with another brace, but I would like to see Raul score one or two.
