It was expected that they will go from 48 teams to 64 teams quickly.

Unfortunately qualifying in itself will not mean much after this change.

As I said back in the day, WC2022 was the last real World Cup final tournament.

If this did happen, Faroe Islands qualifying for a World Cup would suddenly look a lot more possible.

They are having a fantastic qualification phase atm - 3rd in their group only behind Croatia and Czechs. Currently leading 2-0 against Montenegro.
