From this Tuesday on the professional Danish players playing in the Danish divisions will go on a strike.

The negotiations between Spillerforeningen (the players) and Divisionsforeningen (the clubs) have now officially been called off and the strike will happen as many people have predicted and feared.

If the strike still is on in a fortnight I guess the Danish teams left in Europe will have to play with their foreign players and players from their amateur-department, which can be everything from old-boys to youth players.
Ridiculous situation, really.

It's so sad..!

This problably means a goodbye to danish teams in Europe in the next 4-5 years..!

So when we start up again, our coeffecient will be 0, and that maybe means one team in the toto-cup if we're ready..!

Anyone who wants to complain (other nationalities can too :)) can drop a mail here:

mail@spillerforeningen.dk

Goodbye danish proffesional soccer..!

:moan: :broken:

Schmeichel for Brøndby!!!! ;)
Yep... That is pretty realistic actually..! Together with Faxe, Laudrup (If he haven't played for Lyngby in the last month i think), Strudal, and other big names..! :)

It could be awesome having players like Laudrup and Schmeichel in the line-up. Laudrup seems to be in decent match form and he definitely hasn't lost his tuch. Faxe and others on the other hand ... oh dear! I'd rather see some of our youth players.

Nicolaj Agger for instance. He's scoring one goal after the other for our Junior-team.

From what people from both sides have said the strike doesn't seem to be a quick one. If it's still on when we play Ventspils in the second leg in a fortnight we might have to play with old-boys or youth players, as I've already stated. It's an absurd and absolutely pathetic situation to be in. I mean how long have we had professional football in Denmark? 20-30 years? Shouldn't we be over such a thing like this?

Well, if we have to play without of regular set-up, I guess players like Schmeichel and Laudrup could make a come-back. Schmeichel is still a member of Brøndby IF while Laudrup, playing for the Lyngby Old-boys, probably will have to get some sort og permit to play for us in that match.

Could be fun watching the old stars in real action again. It doesn't make the situation Danish football is in less of a joke though.

As I understand it tho' the League and cup is stopped as long as the strike is on. The only club matches played is the remaining UEFA cup matches (however many that may be) and the localunion matches.

Om lidt bli'r her stille? Yes. :)

It didn't work all that well though. The volume of the singing wasn't very high and although people had recieved the lyrics they didn't sing it clear enough.
A nice idea singing that particular song though.

I would like to know that as well. It seems to me that Brøndby and AaB are the two teams who will be suffering the most because of the strike.

This strike is becoming more and more bizzarre and I would probably be laughing if it didn't involve my team. Check this out:

AaB has recalled retired clublegend Søren Thorst, 39, for the UEFA cup match against Zalgiris. He has so far played one (1) serie 5 match this season.

:D

Brøndby's old-boys with players like, Bent "Turbo" Christensen, Kim Vilfort, Ole Bjur and John Faxe beat Næstved 9-2 yesterday.

They're obviously in some form these old guys. :)

Fans to play instead

Brøndby Support and Esbjerg's fanclub, Blue Sharks, will line up a team each to play the scheduled match Esbjerg - Brøndby on Sunday.

As far as I can remember this won't be the only match of this sort this weekend. I can't remember who'll do it as well, though. Anyone?
