What's your views on this guy? Since we just bought him I'd like to know what you think of him.

Personally, I think he's extremely overrated. I'm not very happy about this signing and I don't expect Nakata to shine in Fiorentina.

He's 27 and he hasn't been very good since his Perugia days. Sure, we'll get a lot of asian fans at Franchi, but as a player I think this transfer was unwise...

well...you have bought him for have more affairs with Japain:D ...and not because he's a great player:D
With him more money will arrive:D:D:D:D
cool!

He's a big questionmark... No doubt about that... But we have seen him as a very good player back in his Perugia days as you say and it's possible that he could shine up again... But it's been a few years since then and if he doesn't improve from the past couple of seasons he will also be useless in Fiorentina...

Anyone knows about the price for him ?

Fiorentina capture Nakata
Sunday 18 July, 2004

Fiorentina have officially confirmed the signing of Japanese ace Hidetoshi Nakata from Parma.

The 27-year-old has been netted for an undisclosed fee from the cash-strapped Serie A outfit.

The Viola have been linked with the playmaker recently and he’s agreed a three-year deal at the Stadio Franchi.

Fiorentina will be Nakata’s fifth Serie A club since he landed in the Italian football world back in 1998.

He started his peninsula adventure with Perugia before securing moves to Roma and then Parma.

However, he never really settled with the Gialloblu and he spent last season on loan at Bologna.

Nakata is the Viola’s third signing of the day after the arrivals of Gianni Guigou and Cristiano Lupatelli.

I don't think he's over-rated. He's done marvellous things for Perugia, virtually sealed the Scudetto for Roma and brought Bologna to life when he came on loan. I think it'll be interesting to see him in Viola colours but I'm pretty confident about his abilities still. Good signing in my opinion. :)

You guys are asians...that's why you are backing him up...I myself an asian too....But i do think can provide some spark in the creativity...

1 thing about asians...they dont really know whats football is all about.

he had very stiff competition for his spot in Roma but did well when he came on.

Why do you say that? Shocking coming from an Asian like yourself.

Unbiasedly, I think Nakata is a good player- his technical ability on the ball is immense, his vision is above average and his passing skills are sublime. This has nothing to do with me or him being Asian. For Christ' sake- I'm Asian but I can't say I'm proud to be one.

Nakata: Why I Chose Fiorentina
7/20/2004 1:34:00 PM
Hidetoshi Nakata has revealed the reasons behind his decision to join Fiorentina.
"Fiorentina are a team that have won a great deal in Italy and have always been among the main players in the championship," he said.

"That was a major influence on my decision, as was the beauty of the city."

He added: "I have been in Italy for six years now, but when you move to a new club you start at the beginning again.

"I am also joining a newly-promoted club, and that will bring its own challenges."
