MILAN - At its London meeting on 29 February, the Fifa Executive Committee rejected Real Madrid's appeal regarding the dispute over a part of the contract which saw Ronaldo transfer to the Spanish club on 31 August 2002.
The Executive Committee has reaffirmed that the decision made by the Players' Status Committee remains valid, meaning Real Madrid are required to pay within thirty days the sum established and still not deposited, the two successive instalments and five percent interest.

FIFA order Real to cough up Wednesday 3 March, 2004

FIFA have once again decided in favour of Inter in the on-going row with Real Madrid and the Spaniards have 30 days to hand over ÂŁ19m.
The verdict on Real’s appeal was passed during the meeting on Feb 29, but has only now been officially confirmed.
On August 31 2002 Ronaldo moved to Madrid in exchange for ÂŁ23m plus either a further ÂŁ7m in January or Santiago Solari.
As the Argentine winger failed to agree terms with Inter, the club expected the ÂŁ7m cash instead.
However, Madrid maintained that the Nerazzurri had offered a purposefully low wage deal in order to force Solari to give up the move.
The matter stretched on for some months and went to FIFA arbitration, but now Real Madrid’s appeal has also failed.
The Liga leaders have 30 days in order to hand over the ÂŁ7m, plus the remaining two installments for Ronaldo's original transfer fee and five per cent interest for a total of ÂŁ19m.
If they are unable to comply, then Inter could theoretically take a player worth that amount instead.
There are already reports that the player in question will be Luis Figo, as Ronaldo has this week extended his contract until 2008 so a return to the San Siro is highly unlikely.

So what if Real can't pay? Who do we take from them? How do u assess who is worth 19 mil? This is very confusing. Do we want Figo?
