Ok, ok, now I get it. I wont compare him to anybody. I didn't mean to get you mad, :D but if you want to try to understand ppl like myself, I can explain, that when I saw Macca the very first time, and that was long time ago, in 91/92 season, he impressed me very much. And as far as I know myself I'm not so easy to impress. :) For example I don't give a damn about somebody like Ronaldo. :) I grew up kicking the ball with ppl who would make Ronaldo look amateur, at least that's how they looked on the street level. But Macca, for me, was the best man on the field in 80-90% of the games I've seen him playing. For the past 10 years or so I got used to the fact that he is the king on the field. So, for me, and I know that I'm far from being singled out, Macca is one of the world's top players for the past decade, along with Zidane, Romario, Rivaldo, R.Carlos, Gazza, Bergkamp, Gullit, Maldini... Those are the players I enjoy watching the most. Besides, Macca is 28 years old, so when somebody says that let's wait and see, as if he is a promising teenager, or when somebody doubts his abilities, as if it was Campo, who was voted MoM 3 times in a raw, I find it a little odd. I understand when you talk about SPECIFIC situation, I know that the fans are behind him, but although he seem to be a nice guy, media has never been behind him. He isn't scandalous enough to make a perfect superstar that media like going crazy about. I know that that's impossible for media to go overboard about McManaman, rather opposite, if they say he was the best, that means he was clearly the best.

Bottomline: Macca is too good to doubt him.

One more thing. If you find a post too boring or bothersome, you can always skip over it, or ignore it. I think there should be no reason to get mad about it. In the end, we are simply discussing THE GAME... :) ;)

zico, I acknowledge all that's written:) But why are you saying all this about the media!?:D:p Have you forgotten he is now in Spain?;) The spanish media are doing nothing but supporting him so far. Who cares about England, to put it clearly:p Don't you agree?

And I have no problem with arguing:cool:

Well if this argument was about Macca vs Figo i can make both sides happy by saying THEY BOTH PLAYED yesterday

I have no idea how Del Bosque used Macca but we seem to be using the diamond i have begged for over the past weeks. This means smething like this:

----------Guti--------
Macca-------------Figo
--------Makelele------

You know what i mean?

I like this. We got lots of offence and Guti has a place in the team. The only side-effect is (like i said in my topic about "Helguera to the DMC") that our multi million dollar buys will sit on the bench, with Celades-Flavio-Makelele-Helguera battling out for 1 position.

Which I suyppose proves you guys right that the main problem was not the buying of Figo but Flavio.......I bow to labas, R&B and hala (also anyone else who pointed it out:D)

hala disagreed with this:eek: I dunno what to say really. After thinking it over, I would have to currently say YES, this wa a bad idea. I am not taking into acount his price, just as a player. BUT he can be great supposedly, so again I don't know...it's hard. Hala said he doesn't agree that flavio was a bad transfer and i bet he sais this, because he still believes Flavio can become Redondo's replacement. Personally I am more scpetical. it's not that I don't believe in Flavio anymore, the thing is if I had to choose who to get rid of:
Makelele
Celades
Flavio
Helguera

I would choose Flavio first and Celades second. No offense, but Helguera is untouchable and I choose Makelele as my natural second. And we don't need 4 DM's! So yes, Flavio was a bad transfer, especially after reminding ourselves he cost the same as Munitis, Makelele and Celades combined:eek: Ridiculous.

sorry hala, assumed that you did but I now remember that you didn't.
I think that Makelele has shown that he has got what it takes and question whether we need Flavio but again hindesight is a wonderful thing:D

Pool a funny thing was that i got Halas opinion completely wrong myself a while ago...It turned out that he was a ZZ fanatic and i thougth he wanted Figo to be world player

Hala why do we misunderstand you, maybe you are a Barca fan since i got the impression you were a Madrid fan but maybe i got something right for once :D
