We didn't deserve more then the draw, but how this overtime was handled was absolutely pathetic.

Pirlo didn't look out of form, he looked like he was possessed by pub league player, incredibly embarrassing second half. Based on this Marchisio must play as much as possible.

Apparently changing to 4-3-3 was very bad idea since we lost all grip we had on proceedings vs a very good Sassuolo. Only Pereyra improved playing on the wing, but changing formation made our two only decisive players Tevez and Pogba completely lost out there.

Well this is what happens when people think we don't need to change the formula. We end up drawing against the bottom placed club.

I'll credit Allegri with at least changing it in the 60th minute but by then it looked unlikely we'd find the breakthrough.

There isn't enough creativity in this team, there isn't enough pace and skill with the ball. It's too workman-like.

Pirlo cannot continue if he's going to put in performances like this one. Just terrible and lost the ball so many times i lost count. And again, the problem with the 3-5-2 when he plays is everything centers on him, and if he's having a bad game then everything goes out the window. To his credit, Pirlo still had two great passes which could have been assists, but he'll always be able to manage that. But his overall play was atrocious in truth.

And the golden utility man, Pereyra....yes, he has skill, yes he does bring a bit of pace and strength to the team. But what use is it when every time he takes a shot, makes a cross, or tries to pass in a decisive position, it's all overhit or underhit rubbish? Okay he's not starting and i understand that's a mitigating factor, but it doesn't help his cause when he wastes so many opportunities to be decisive in his passing because he can't weight a pass properly to save his life.

Coman is exactly the type of player we need to see more of in our line-up but he's clearly too young and inexperienced, and he's not going to improve on the bench.

Instead we persist with this moronic system where we're playing Evra and Licht who didn't contribute anything, and we're leaving all these potential game-changers on the bench like Giovinco and Coman. Against a team like Sassuolo there's no need to play the 3-5-2.

It's just infuriating that we don't try to be progressive at all. We really lack quality and creativity in the final third and i don't know where it's going to come from. Tevez can't do everything on his own, and teams are more savvy now on how to prevent our CMs from taking shots from around the box. We need to expand to the wings to draw defenses out, but there's no way we can do that when we persist with Evra and Licht as our wingbacks.

Hell at least bring back Asamoah, who despite his limitations in the LWB role at least had the desire to try and make something happen, and he'd try to run at defenders, even if in the end he'd make the conservative lateral pass.

We're going to continue hitting a brick wall if we don't change things.

Couldn't watch the second half, but I was almost certain that we would win the game. Needless to say, the result is shitty, but I won't lose my sleep. It's far more important to beat Olympiacos than Sassuolo at this stage.

Well its funny when you think about it. Starting 11. Forget about the formation for a minute. Basically we are playing with 5 defenders (Lichsteiner, Ogbonna, Bonucci, Chiellini, Evra) - 3 central mids and 2 strikers - 1 of which 1 is drastically out of form.

Normally a top of the table team playing a bottom of the table team would not start a game with 5 defenders.

I think we looked to rushed in the 2nd half when it came to our build up play.

I would like to see us play a 433 like this:

-----------------Buffon---------------------

Lichsteiner----Bonucci---Chiellini----Evra

--------Vidal----Pirlo-----Pogba-----------

-----Coman-----Tevez------Giovinco-----

I don't want to see Llorente starting for a while. I would like to see Tevez starting with 2 other attacking players between Morata, Coman and Giovinco.

A draw was the fair result. Sassuolo were solid and played the game of their lives. They played with heart and what they lacked in technique, they gave in effort. Consigli was in great form too and made some great saves.

The season is still 7 matches old, and there is no way a team wins all 38 matches, there comes a time when actually things go wrong and your team drops points, we should just keep our heads up and focus on the next match.

Many more twists and turns are yet to come in the Scudetto race.

Missed this game. Probably a good thing. Can't believe we can't create and score more against the bottom team. Long season ahead.
We actually had:
19 shots to their 7,
7 shots on target to their 2,
and 65.4% possession of the ball.

Absolutely. What a joke to play with 5 defenders & still concede a goal. Says a lot about the "merits" of 3 (5) at the back & at the expense of sacrificing wing attacking play. As for Llorente, he can't even receive the ball when under no pressure, for goodness sake. If he continues like this, he should be booted out in the Jan window. Even the bench is too good for him. No news yet of a Giovinco renewal & that's plain wrong & worrying. He's easily one of our quickest, most skillful & capable of creating scoring chances forwards & we're stalling over his renewal? What is this? Don't be cheap, Marotta & Allegri, time for you to impose your real game.

I've said this so many times before, we play 3 centerbacks and yet we still concede goals we shouldn't. It doesn't add anything defensively and it sacrifices so much offensively.

Very few of them were good quality chances however.

I don't know what qualifies as a good quality chance, but Consigli's insane double save on Pogba and then Tevez, Preyera's lame shot infront of goal, Coman blasting the ball just infront of goal, Lichti's saved shot on the right when played nicely by Pirlo and Consigli's save of Pogba's shot down the end... 6 chances than any other day could've easily been converted to goals...
