Argentina grinded out some results in the last 3 minutes of extra time (like against Switzerland). In fact I saw a Swiss side that had quite a few chances... including one chance where Dzemaili ****ed up and hit the post (minutes after Argentina scored). I still remember that miss... Dzemaili was linked to Milan... no thanks. Napoli players flopped in this world cup. If Dzemaili scored that, it would have been penalties. Switzerland in fact outclassed Argentina for long periods of that game... same Swiss side that saw 5 goals scored on it by France.

I think it was Germany with more clear cut chances to win it in the final, but that's just me. Argentina had maybe one or two good chances, but Germany had far many more (Muller for example).

Conte has resigned?! Going for the Italian NT job I guess?

I think it's possibly a damaging blow to Juve, but this Milan won't be able to take advantage of that. I can see Roma possibly giving them a run for their money. There were apparently major disagreements over transfers. This could possibly put their bid for Iturbe in limbo now too... I'm not sure if Conte wanted Iturbe, but I think he didn't. Still, that could be an opportunity for us.

Wow,that really shakes things up, I see rumours that allegri might get the juve job.. I wouldnt be able to handle losing to an allegri managed juve
Is it official yet?

The optimist in me hopes that B&G don't want to see that either and will see this as an opportunity to at least challenge for the Scudetto. If Conte is gone and Allegri takes time to settle in, we MIGHT have a shot if we make 2-3 good signings.

Completely.

There was even a video announcing it.

This is a big opportunity for us, but only if we make the proper signings. And maybe we can steal Iturbe.

We are too far away from making a scudetto challenge, Roma is a very solid team, the amount of points they put up last season, was enough to win the scudetto almost any other year, only plus side is they have europe this year and maybe domestically their performance will drop.

We'll have to see. This could lead to several Juve players leaving... possibly an exodus of players. That could damage Juve significantly.

As far as Roma... somebody needs to tell their players to win a scudetto they need to play a full season well and not just half of a season.

Well, there's certainly no need for us to get giddy over this news. As things stand, we're still a EL challenging squad However, with Conte, we had no chance even if we improve our squad, but now there's at least a remote sense of hope if we make some signings. If anything, it’ll be good for morale. It’s easier to motivate players who think they might win something in the end if they work hard.

This past season they did well, but once juve surpassed them Juve hardly ever dropped points, 85 points wins the league 80%, Roma also dropped their last 9 points because the scudetto race was over, so could have broken 90 points.

Also 85 points is more in a season than Milan has EVER done.

I believe Juve is nearing the end of a cycle by the way. So I don't think they continue that and players could very well leave. They did well because Milan is in bad shape, Roma always drops off by the second half of the season... Juve also had help from the refs.

Look at it this way though... this isn't just about Conte quitting... it could also damage the morale of Juve and could lead to several players leaving. And I don't believe Juve will hold up like they did last season, especially after that damaging World Cup bid (where many of the players took part in).

I'm not just blowing smoke and engaging in wishful thinking. These are realistic prospects.

If Allegri goes to Juve, I wonder how he's going to repair his relationship with Pirlo.

Speaking of Pirlo, I miss the tight PR ship Milan used to run. We somehow were able to portray Andrea "I'd crawl on all fours to Barca" Pirlo as a loyal hardworking Milanista. Nowadays every negative thing associated with the club is leaked to the media or on social media.

Juve has contacted Allegri for availability:howler::howler::howler:

The only logical reason is he is going to manage the national team.
Apparently he had issued with Marotta. And he was the only person Conte didn't thank in his ciao ciao video. Many are speculating lack of getting one of Sanchez or Quadrado. Some say Vidal might be sold.

Yeah, I see on gazetta that conte was pissed off about how the transfer market was going down, but one would have to think he'll take the NT job now right? I mean there isnt a lot of managerial jobs open this close to the season starting.
