so there is no real reason behind to just won 5 titles in your whole history?...you are running out of scapegoats, unless Rivelinho, Socrates and cia have some argie relative in their family
I lol'd hard.

Zanetti is one of the top 20 players of all time.
Higher than all of them in my opinion. Thuram was the best defensively out of this lot but overall, Zanetti beats them out.

Cafu and Zambrotta do not belong in this list. They were good but not in the same class as zanetti
Agreed and agreed.

I get the feeling that Ze thinks that Ze Elias was a better player overall than Zanetti as well, even if they generally occupied different positions. He'll probably confirm this shortly.

Simply put, together with Maldini, the best full back I have seen, as well as one of the classiest players I know. I really can't tell about Nilton and Djalma Santos or Facchetti (Roy of the Rovers is probably the only one in here that can) but from the 80s on, his career is unmatched. Sure, there are players who won more, but that kind of one-dimensional thinking isn't really for intelligent people.

Will go down as a true legend of the game.

One of my most favourite players ever and certainly one of the best Full-Backs of all-time. Cannot have any doubts about that. Good on and off the ball, things don't get much better than him.

Have no idea why he is so under-rated, even considering his position itself is under-rated.

We talk of artists and associate them with playmakers and give credit to the finishers, but for all the under-rating goalkeepers, defensive/box to box mids, and full-backs receive - they're all artists on their own and Zanetti is exemplary of a true full-back artist.

Probably he's one of the best side-backs/wing-backs of all-time, surely the best Argentinean by the right side.

I'd rate him in a high spot among the best right-backs in history, at least the top 6: Djalma Santos, Carlos Alberto and Cafú (Brazil), Vogts (Germany), Thuram (France) and Zanetti (Argentina).

I don't think Nasazzi, Bergomi or Gentile belong to this category. Especially the Uruguayan, I think it's pretty clear he was a centre-back despite the old terminology indicate him as right-back.
if you mention berti vogst then clearly you also should mention wim suurbier and danny mcgrain.. both are the same level as vogts..
cafu is overrated..
also orvar bergmark was a truly magnificent rigthback.. deserves a mention at least
