Hi, guys!.

This is the first time I write to my friends in Serbia.

I live in the northern shore of Spain, and I´m a football fan of Sporting de Gijón. Surely most of you remember the amusing matches that faced Crvena Zvezda (1978) & Partizan (1991) and Sporting.

I´m trying to get from several sources a row of pictures, videos, press reports, personal data, etc about those matches from 1978-October-18th (Gijón), 1978-November-1st (Beograd), 1991-September-18th (Gijón), and 1991-October-3rd (Inonu Stadium, Istanbul) . I was only a child then, and now I´m longing for getting some good aid to my rememberings.

I´m sure you will help me. I offer you some pieces from my stuff.

See you later...

I actually remember the game Partizan played, it was very close, might have even been penalties..and I think Osim was coaching the zebras.

Thanks

Thanks a lot!.

Red Bandit, boris4c and red star forever, you´ve been very kind to me.

Your images and advices become really useful to my aim. I´m thinking about doing something like a Hofmann álbum containing several pictures from the games that Sporting de Gijón played in Europe between 1978 and 1991.

May be you didn´t know that Dule Savić signed for Sporting de Gijón in 1983. I have two images that I´m sure you´ll be glad to see, but my internet doesn´t seem to run fast enough today. Another day I´ll try to share them with you.

However, does anybody have any picture from the match when Sporting faced Crvena Zvezda the 1978-October-18th in Gijón?. I´ve been unable to get any.

Thanks again, my friends.

Dule Savić in Gijón

Good night, friends!.

As I promised, you may now share some interesting images.

Two of them talk about those ancient times of 1978.

You may, too, see the cover page of my favourite team´s magazine telling how (at last!) Dule Savić signed to play for Sporting. The last picture shows a line-up belonging to a "Copa del Rey" match (the Spanish Cup).

Unfortunately, he stayed in Asturias only half a season before he signed for a couple of French sides. My memories of that season are really good, and I regret that Sporting couldn´t attach a so great scorer.

Finally, please, remember that I would like to see some interesting photos about the Crvena Zvezda-Sporting (1978) and the Partizan-Sporting (1991).

Some questions for boris4c and red star forever.

Good night!.

Thinking about Crvena Zvezda and Partizan, I have to say that here in Spain we usually believe both of them were clubs supported by the police and the army of the ancient communist power. Was this true?. And then, do we have to supose that all the players belonging to e.g. Zvezda in 1978 were, at least, friendly and faithful to the communist authorities?. I guess they just loved to play football and to get their money that way, but I´m not sure.

Gijón was that year 1978 a very industrial town, with 250,000 inhabitants, big works of steel and ship building, and a strong movement of trade unions. In another words, a working class´town with a growing socialist party in a very young democracy after a 40 years´fascist-conservative dictatorship.

Besides this political chat, I may say that I´ve recently found a photograph showing our argentinian top class left forward Ferrero in a close strugle with a player that perhaps (I´m not sure) is Petar Baralic, that night of October 18th, 1978. What do you think about?. Please forgive me if I don´t put perfectly well the accent on the Serbian names.

Usually red and white fans talk about the argentinian Enzo Ferrero as the best foreigner player ever wore our jersey. We think he deserved a 50 million euro transfer, but our president in the 80´s always refused big offers from Barça.

Can any of you read Serbian?. I would be very glad having an English translation of the newspaper´s page you sent to me, or at last a little resume.

Cheers from Spain...

Slađan Šćepović 1991, Stefan Šćepović 2013

Hello, supporters to Partizan.

Did you know that in your team defeated by Sporting de Gijón in 1991was playing Slađan Šćepović, father of Stefan, our top scorer in 2013?. Stefan belongs to you, and we´re really greatful to his scoring skills.

Football has strange ways...

Does anyboby have pictures, videos, press reports or so about that round of the UEFA´s Cup from 1991?. Penalty kicks in Istanbul decided it all, after lots of emotion.

Aaah, so it was penalty kicks..I was quite mellow then and felt bad for Partizan..Oh, how I've changed..

Come on, red star forever, I´m almost sure that you can translate to English this newspaper sheet, or at least the headline, or do an abstract from the text and tell me something about that newspaper. Cyrilic alphabet is too much for me!.

Again on UEFA´s Cup 1978-79, I share with you the two lines-up used by Crvena Zvezda against Sporting de Gijón. Would you tell me if they´re right or if I made any mistake?.

Thanks in advance.

10 men for victory!

* In the 20th minute the referee sent off Jovanovic who previously already had a yellow card, so the red and white had to continue the match with 10 men
* There was no weak spot in the Red Star squad

...

I´m not Croatian. I´m Spanish.

So, surely you understand my difficulties with the cyrilic.

Thanks a lot, red star forever, for the translation. It´s funny to try to recognize the names of the players.

Do you know the name of the newspaper?. Its page is a real treasure to me.

Happy New Year to all the members in Serbia!.

I´m asking for your help on finding some data:

1 - The weight and height of Slobodan Krcmarevic (born in 1965, he was a midfielder or forward in the Partizan´s squad from 1991 to 1993, and played also for AIK Solna, Apollon Limassol, and PAOK Salonika).

2 - The weight and height of Ljubomir Vorkapic (born in 1967, he was a striker in the Partizan´s squad from 1991 to 1994, and played also for Vojvodina.

Sorry for my way of write the accents.

I´m trying to make a picture with the players who faced Sporting de Gijón in the UEFA´s Cup of 1991-92, and I´ll be glad to share it when fulfilled, but now I need these data.

Thanks a lot, in advance!.

Hello friends:

Could anybody talk to me about the referee in Lecce´s 3-0 final score between AC Milan and Sporting de Gijón (30th September, 1987): the Serb Mr. Zoran Petrović, friend to blow penalty outside the box...

I guess he was damaged by the Yugoslavian Federation due to major mistakes around that date.

Thanks a lot.
