Which players do you think never quite realized their full potential and why?.I know this may have been discussed several times before so my apologies.Just thought this again could be a nice topic of fun discussion:D.

Cassano&Morfeo had talent to burn but never quite made it to what many had expected of them:D.

Well, if not because of his severe injury, Eduardo might have shown us more coming from him. Intelligent player with a good heart and fighting spirit inside. Even until now Arsenal fans still love and remember him.

Half of Argentina's youth players who won 95, 97 and 2001 world cups. But the one I can't forget is Ibagaza.
I think that was some of the greatest youth jobs ever done, the Maradona stigma still makes dammage...just Cambiasso won more titles than 10 players combine...they were and still many are great players, to not be Maradona or Messi ain't no shame and must not turn us blind to such achieve. Lots of players from those yeras played the majority of their carreer in the elite....maybe also some that you've felt were really great weren't that great since day one.

Pato so far but he's still young&obviously because of his injuries otherwise surely would've been one of the best going around:D.

One guy I keep wondering about is Kevin Hofland...one of the highest rated young CBs in the world in early 2000s. ManU was ready to pay big money for him in 2001-2002 to replace Stam but Kevin and his dad refused to move unless guaranteed a starting place in United and decided to stay at PSV for one more season. Then he had a bad ankle injury and never quite reached the same level. Last I heard of him he was playing in the Cypriot league.

Out of this list, only Quaresma stands out to me. Some such as Saviola, Aimar, Luis Fabiano, Mexes and others have had careers in line with their talent IMO. None of the others stands out as a major disappointment. Some, such as Robinho, were over-hyped, which is not really their fault.

Edmundo if he was not such a nut case would have been vital for Brazil and had a more succesful period in Yurp. He made Batistuta dream of a Scudetto for Fiorentina, then between Carnival or making Batistuta's dream come true, he choose carnival:)

Batistuta had to plead to Cafu, Emerson, Antonio Carlos and other Brazilians to help him be a Scudetto winner. Edmundo could not give two cents for the Scudetto! :)
