I don't know about this thread name. Well, he is tall, he is at Red Bull and was at Liverpool (hence red), and plays in Austria (who are popularly known as our brothers in law - hence sógor).

But, no matter the title (feel free to change it), he deserves a thread.

And here's a very nice interview with him on an Austrian sport website - includes also video. He comes across, as others from his generation, as a balanced, serious, thinking guy. Good.

Excellent news! In the first game of the Austrian NB1 seaso, Red Bull wins 5:1 with Gulacsi playing all 90 minutes! In other words - he fought and is the first choice goalie! Perfect, if he keeps playing, could not be better for hs development and our NT!

We have plenty (!!!) of good goalies. I am still in shock. Megyeri etc. But I agree, Gula is /would be / should be next in line.

we sure have. but it's still Király Gabi as #2 in the picking order and that's a big come on you must be kidding me in my world.

Yes, but Gulacsi was second choice after Kiraly a long time, for Egri, until Bogdan really made a splash, remember? Gula was at U20 under Egri, and all those are his favs.

He never debuted for the NT though, along with Megyeri. You don't want to put a young GK in a WC qualifying match just like that... Kiraly has been great for us recently, no complaints with him whatsoever. No one can match his experience which really helps us out a lot. If you had an inexperienced GK in net I'm sure the defense and the whole team would be a little shaky.
