Norwich City have signed Welsh international keeper Darren Ward on a two-year-deal.

The 30-year-old comes to the club from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee and has the option to extend the deal for another year.

Ward missed the final 14 games of last season after suffering a torn disc.

He will provide extra cover for the Canaries' first choice keeper Robert Green and Scottish international summer signing Paul Gallagher.

"It's moved really quickly, but the lure of Premiership football was too much to turn down," Ward told BBC Sport Wales.

"I'm in the game to test myself at the highest level.

"I can see why Green is so highly rated, but I've got belief in my own ability.

"I have to work hard and try to catch the manager's eye, whoever's producing the goods will get the jersey."
