Zinedine Zidane's agent has
declared that the supremely gifted
Juventus man would be tempted
by a move to Real Madrid, should
the Champions League winners
succeed in their swoop for
Barcelona’s Luis Figo.
The 27-year-old has had his name
mentioned as a bargaining chip in
the dramas that are the
presidential elections of the two
giants of Spanish football and, despite agent Alain Migliaccio
claiming that the Juve man would not be used as a pawn, this is
the first confirmation of any possible move.
Migliaccio dismissed the speculation linking Zidane in a swap
deal that would see Nicolas Anelka move to Serie A.
"I know of no such offer," he stated.
"I warned it was out of the question that Zidane would be used
as an election argument for Real and Barcelona."
"The new Real chairman is trying to sign Luis Figo. It is
obvious that if he succeeds, with the Raul presence, it is a
whole new context and would appeal to Zidane."
The one possible stumbling block to any deal could be the huge
transfer that Juventus would demand for Zidane.
Anelka has categorically stated that the only place he will go is
Paris Saint Gerain, thus ruling out a swap deal – meaning that
Real would have to come up with another package to secure the
services of the Frenchman.
