What´s your favourite NT game? I mean from those games that you´ve seen.

In my case:

Romania 3 - England 2 (Euro 2000)

Romania 3 - Argentina 2 (WC 1994)

Romania 5 - Germany 1 (Friendly 2004)

I didn´t watch the Romania-Germany, but I followed here on XT which is pretty the same

I think those are my favourite games of the NT.

Yeah Mitea had his wonderful moment.

But he phucked up later.
we had once an away friendly against Italy. i remember that Mitea was the only real threat for Italy and the only one who didn't play like a little scared girl. our team performance was bad but atleast Mitea played a great game on his own. i hope he finds a good club in summer, we need him and i love his style.
Yeah it´s more important to beat England in final tournaments than Germany in friendlies, even if Germany is better overall.
not for me... beating germany is always special... Noname knows :pp
I remember Mitea was incredibly talented

?
GWN don´t lie, your favourite game is Rep.Ireland - Romania (WC 1990)
Okay okay, you're right....

I forgot about that one, I was thinking more recently. :wallbang:
My mind was on games where I was cheering for Romania.

It was so long ago though (18 years man).... :D

Talent don´t dissapear. Other things dissapear.
Talents don't disappear, they are wasted. Mitea is also wasting it. His fault or not, its still a waste.

 of course it is, especially when it ends 5:1  it's always nice to beat arrogant football countries like Germany!

it's not too late for Mitea but if he doesn't find a good club in this summer where he can play he's finished, then he will never become a special player again...i don't understand why all this injuries don't stop.... is it his fault? is it the fault of Ajax's doctors? is this a Romanian disease that most of our players are made out of glass? are we doing something wrong with them when they are still young...?
Mitea got a bit of that Cernat syndrome of not changing the club in the right moment plus a good number of injuries.

Now it´s time to start from 0. It will be a pity not to see him in Euro 2008.
guys, he is skinny and 5'7 around 130lbs.. he need to bulk up to prevent injuries, simple as that.

he is too tiny to not put on weight/muscle.
My favorite is Romania - Denmark 3-1.....I think it was in 1989. We had to get a wing and Denmark scored the first goal in the first 5 minutes.
i saw some highlights from this game on the Hagi DVD. i didn't "know" this important game before.
I think that game officially kicked off the "golden era" in the 90s. It was a great game, i still get goose bumps just thinking about it.
you are probably right, it qualified us for the first of 5 consecutive major tournaments.
Romania-Argentina '94 WC. I was at the Rose Bowl for this 2nd round match. Argentina were one of the favorites to win the Cup, but didn't have Maradona in this game. Raducioiu was suspended on Yellow Cards, so we needed Dumitrescu to step up big time, and boy did he deliver. His freekick goal was the best of the tournament for me. Hagi also had some magnificent moments, the assist to Dumitrescu was sick, and his counter goal was clinical. Argentina came back and made a game of it with 2 goals, so this was the most entertaining game with a W in spectacular fashion. Also, the win got us the best result ever at the WC, so personally this is a no-brainer.
From WC 94 the best for me was the one vs Colombia, the game that started all for me. After Colombia had beaten Argentina 5-0 in the qualifyers and they were thinking the wqere gonna win the tournament, and it was fantastic to see Romania beat them that way, and with a marvelous Hagi:proud:. In the game vs Argentina i already had mixed feelings but was still rooting for Argentina.

But the game i probably enjoyed the most was the one vs Colombia in WC 98. It was my first WC fully rooting for Romania and i remember how badly i expected that tournament. Ilie was making the headlines every week at Valencia, and he was also the first romanian player i could follow closely, so it was fantastic to see him become a star after being mostly unknown, even to me, before getting there. So i had a lot of expectations in him and Hagi, and watching him score that superb goal vs Colombia was an undescribable feeling for me. Hagi wasn´t brilliant in that game but still had some touches like the assist to him in the goal.

I still remember that huge Hagi miss against Italy in Euro 2000....imagine if that would have gone in...the game would have been totally different!
Adeezy you are surely a very lucky guy :) this game was voted by Fifa "most entertaining game at a WC"

Hagi also had some magnificent moments, the assist to Dumitrescu was sick
one of the best assists ever! our 3rd goal has to be a training video for every team how to play a perfect counter! back then we were the best counter team in the world imo.

just curious, if Argentina would meet Romania at the WC 2010, which team would you root for?

after a sensational pass from Mutu i think. it was just bad luck that it didn't go in :wallbang: i think it happened even 1 minute after the 1:0 for Italy... i remember exactly where i watched this game by the way: i was at a party from Gerhard Kapl's son (PMC surely knows him but for everybody else: he's the "boss", don't know how to say it in English, from all Austrian referees and also a very important and famous official for the Uefa). while everybody was partying downstairs i watched together with his father this game and when Hagi did this dive in the 2nd half we both (even he :D ) thought at first, before the replay, that it was apparently a foul...

do you guys think Hagi's brutal foul on Conte was on purpose or (this is my opinion) that it was just an accident?

Hagi was always an agressive player, especially towards the end of his career. It was just his style, I don't think it was intentional.
