As usual every World Cup there seems to be some big players who will unfortunately miss out due to injury. Already one has been ruled out while a couple others are in danger.

The first big name and only notable absence will be Theo Walcott of England. In danger of missing out are Sami Khedira (Germany), Giuseppe Rossi (Italy)

Three more players joined the injury doubts for the World Cup

- Robbie Kruse (Australia - Bayer Leverkusen)
- Gaston Ramirez (Uruguay - Southampton)
- Dejan Lovren (Croatia - Southampton)

Kruse is out for the season and is unlikely to be healthy for the World Cup. The injury statuses of Ramirez and Lovren is not really known, both injuries looked bad but the early reports say nothing serious, we'll see

Bruma is out of the World Cup. A nasty acl break will leave him out of football during 5-6 months.

The Betting MAFIAS in Colombia are as RUTHLESS if not worse than the Political Guerrilas. :wallbang:, The Government looks the other way, while their pockets are greased by the filthy money, the same they used to get the Group they got, courtesy of Blatter and Co.

Falcao's camp is pretty optimistic he will be ready for the World Cup, we'll wait and see if its just wishful thinking

But unfortunately another one to report today, Bryan Oviedo broke his leg for Everton and will miss the World Cup. Huge loss for Costa Rica who already have an uphill task

Unfortunately June and Brasil 2014 remain VERY FAR away, and what has happened to the colombian and costa rican players before mentioned will happen again to someone else. Most of the players representing their countries play in very competitive Leagues, coupled with other Tournaments running along with those Leagues (Champions, Libertadores etc, etc).

Chances of other :star:s NOT making it to the WC remain extremelly high.

Players ruled out of the 2014 World Cup due to injury

or at least expected to be ruled out because of injury. It`s been a pretty bad few weeks in terms of these recent injuries :(

So far:

Falcao - Colombia
Walcott - England
Bruma - Portugal (not sure if he would`ve got called anyway)
Oviedo - Costa Rica

What a loss for Portugal. Bruma was designated to carry them to glory with his 0 caps and 30 top level games experience.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Oviedo. From what I've read, it's a clean break. It wasn't a compound fracture. Hopefully in 6-8 weeks he'll be able to run. He'll probably be able to do non-weightbearing physio before that. Should give him about 8 weeks to get fit fof the World Cup if everything goes well.
That's my amateur assessment anyway.
