What do you think of the new signings? Lots of bolstering going on, but what they need is a left mid/striker as many people have been saying. Frankowski is not CL material and Brozek is a year or two away methinks.

Frankowski is not CL material
What do you mean by that?

Tomasz Frankowski, najlepszy napastnik Polski!

Maybe it's a little exaggeration but still he's a great striker, if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have won even with Dutch NEC.

Wisla is almost a dead cert to win the championship but knowing the past I have serious doubts if they can make it to the CL, even if Kosowski comes back (which I don't believe but who knows). It's just our luck I guess.

In my opinion Frankowski is only a shadow of a player who was a nightmare for defenders only a few seasons ago.

And even if he is back with his best form, I guess another striker would be useful.

Perhaps Kasperczak wants to play Gorawski there, since right mid position is most likely to be occupied by Uche.

We shall see. I bet Frankowski hasn't said his last word yet.

To sum up Wisla winter transfers:

Radoslaw Majdan (Ashdod) - a very solid player, who may become second (or considering Dudek's problems even first) Poland's GK.

Tomasz Klos (FC Köln) - experienced international defender who will partner Arek Glowacki .

Nikola Mijailoviæ (Železnik) - 21 years old Serb who fight for the place on left defence with Maciej Stolarczyk.

Jacek Kowalczyk (GKS Katowice) - promising, 22 years old defender.

Mariusz Kukielka (Nürnberg) - creative defensive midfielder, regular player in Janas NT.

And now sth for true fans :D

Thank you Maior

Of course I must admit it's been one of best Frankowski's seasons since he came to Wisla. His goals were essential and if it hadn't been for him, Wisla probably wouldn't have won the championship.

Still, I don't think Kasperczak considers him to be a player capable of leading Wisla to the CL.

As for their recent transfer moves, Wisla are apparently planning to build a Polish dream team, although the desperation with which they insisted on Dawidowski, Zienczuk and Kuzba is IMHO a clear sign that Zurwaski and perhaps Szymkowiak will leave in winter break.

We all know Kasperczak is a great coach but is he also a good manager? I mean, don't you think some of his transfer decisions are, let's say, controversial? The recent examples - paying 400 000 € for injury prone Dawidowski or buying Kwiek whose scale of talent is, at least in my opinion, "unimpressive". Beforehand there were such "aces" as Hughes, Brasilia, Belotte and so on. Judying player's potential isn't Kasperczak's strength...

It is WIT Georgia Tbilisi that Wisla will be facing. Less than a week to go to see how this Wisla "Dream Team" performs (27 July is the first leg). Than on 30 July we will find out who Wisla faces in the third qualifying round (that takes place on 10-11 and 24-25 August). Can't wait...

Wisla wins 8-2, 4 goals from Frankowski (no, I'm not looking at Prewitt ;)). Nothing else to say as there was no TV broadcast. Thank you TVP :[

Great result today, another slaughtering. I was a bit worried when Leczna went up in the 22min, but I shouldn't have doubted Wisla. Final score: Wisla 5-1 Gornik Leczna

Wisla's offensive potential is just amazing. Despite having not a very good day, they were capable of scoring five goals.

However, yesterday's game has also proven they are vulnerable in defence. Besides, Zurawski and Szymkowiak seem to be out of form...

It would be useful if they were in perfect shape in ten days' time. Real is slightly ;) better than Leczna, but it isn't a team that you cannot beat.

Well, it seems like Zuraw has been off form for awhile. Ever since the spring season, Frankowski has been scoring the goals and he might get one later on at the end of the match. However, he's been the one setting Franek up.
