One defender that may be leaving the Stadio Olimpico in the January window is Traianos Dellas.

The Giallorossi are ready to allow the Greek international to leave but they want something in return.

01/02/2004. A very active Perugia have today confirmed that Karagounis, Okan and Colonnese will be heading towards the Umbria squad.

Gaucci's club confirmed this through their official website: "On the front of the negotiations of players joining the club, we confirm there are agreements with Inter and Lazio for the transfer of the midfielders Karagounis and Okan and the defender Colonnese. The agreements will be perfected in the next hours."

Spurs' midfielder link
By Danny Griffiths for THEspursweb.com

SPURS have been linked with another midfielder - and this time it is Olympiakos captain Predrag Djordjevic.

Sky Sports suggest the Serbo-Montenegrian winger, who has played in Greece since 1993 for both Panaliakos and current side Olympiakos, is an alternative to Andy Reid.

Djordjevic has established himself as one of Europe's best dead-ball specialists and the ex-Crvena Zvezda star has plenty of UEFA Champions League experience.

But whether Tottenham will move for another east European midfielder after having their fingers burned with Goran Bunjevcevic and Milenko Acimovic remains to be seen.

PAOK has signed Cypriot forward Alexis Garpozis and 20 years old goalkeeper Mihalis Andriopoulos from Panahaiki.

Rumor has it, we have already agreed with Maladenis in case he gets released from AEK, while we also might go for Zagorakis.

Inter Milan's Karagounis rules out Perugia move
tribalfootball.com - January 6, 2004

Inter Milan midfielder Giorgios Karagounis has rubbished Perugia claims that he is joining them on-loan.
The Greek international said, "I do not understand this because Alessandro Gaucci says I am already a player of Perugia. But Inter have not told me that they want to loan me.

"I will remain here and try to win a place in the team.

"A return in Greece? Not, it is not in my plans. My aim is only with Inter, and I will do everything in order to play for the Nerazzurra."

Stupid move by Kara. The fact is he is not playing and doesn't look like he will play at Inter, even though I think he is better than some of the players that play ahead of him and he can win a spot, it just doesn't look like he is being given the chance. He should go to Perugia, get back into shape and play ball to get ready for Portugal, so he can be at his best instead of out of action for a whole year. :yuck: Xipna re. You can return to Inter after the tournaments and try to win your spot.

Perugia continue Inter talks Tuesday 6 January, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Perugia have confirmed that they have yet to reach an agreement with Inter over the loan moves for Okan Buruk and Giorgios Karagounis.

The Umbrian outfit claimed last week that they were close to bringing in the pair but talks are continuing.

"We¡¦ve taken a step forward in negotiations but we still have a few details to take care of over the next few days," said Perugia director general Alessandro Gaucci.

However, midfielder Karagounis has told a Greek radio station that he has no interest in a move.

"There is no possibility that I will join Perugia," he said on ERA Sport. "I don¡¦t understand why the media and Gaucci are saying such things.

"Inter haven¡¦t told me that they want to loan me out and I¡¦m staying with the intention of winning a first team shirt.

"The arrival of Alberto Zaccheroni as Coach has changed things for me. He believes in me and has given me a few games to impress.

"Could I return to Greece? That is not part of my plan. I want to keep wearing the Nerazzurri shirt."

Karagounis arrived at the San Siro in the summer, on a free transfer, after his contract expired with Panathinaikos.
